I need to write this review from a western tourist point of view. The web sites main photo does not reflect the current state of the property in Feb 2016. The front fencing has long ago fallen apart and is left in pieces in the garden. The property, realistically, can only sleep 6 people in the 3 bedrooms, all of which are ensuite but one of the bedrooms has an indian squatting toilet which would not be suitable for western guests. There were 4 wooden sun loungers stacked in the main entrance room which I assume is where they would image another 4 people sleeping, but would not suit western tourists. There was no furniture for clothes storage, each bedroom had just a bed and bedside table. The kitchen was poorly equipped and dirty with rat droppings in the cupboards. The sun terrace on the roof is actually like a building site. The garden is a bit rough also! The location is absolutely fantastic and the beach beautiful. Fortunately, we have travelled in India a lot so the issues with the house did not bother us, but I think that other western visitors could be quite put off. The owner of the house, Bhushan, was extremely accommodating and helpful. We think that the property is overpriced. We paid 1000 rupees per night per head. Because next property we stayed in in Goa was a brand new house with 3 ensuite western style bathrooms, air conditioning throughout, New clean fully equipped kitchen, TV/DVD with Sky channels and only costing 700 rupees per...
Read moreThe place Malvan is marvellous. Memories of embossed in my brain and vein. I feel rejuvenated there. Feel the touch of nature. My stay house has very vast and having clean rooms situated on The Chivla Beach. It has capacity for 10 people having 3 bedrooms, hall and kitchen. In each bedroom we found attached toilet also. The compound has enough big that tourist can park own car in it. Easy view to the beach from the house. Early morning fresh air, clean view with some dewdrops, light sun rays, slight cold water and salty-gold sand made me walk with bare foots and feel the joy and touch of nature. The care taker baap-beta jodi named Mr.Papu Rodriguez and Mr. Johnwell Rodriguez are too good and very helpful in all situations. They are always there in all ways. Feeling of malvani touch in their homemade breakfast, lunch, dinner. Maushi a.k.a. John's mother made many delicious but my all time favourite is kanda-bhaji, dosa & promfret fry. Different kinds of water sports like banana riding, water scooter(jet ski) riding, para sailing, deep diving scuba, bumper jumping are the artery of the beach. Enjoyed a lot. Must visit and last but not the least, તુમચ્યા ખુપ મોઠા આભાર "ભૂષણ ગાંવકર...
Read moreDuring a visit to my native place Malvan, I had the opportunity to stay with my family at Mr. Gaonkars Malvan Beach House. I have tried to fit my experience in a short paragraph.
Have u ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a beach facing bungalow with the entire beach literally as your front yard? Well, this is the place to experience the same. This beach house has three bedrooms all with attached baths, a common room and a fully functional kitchen. The rooms are spacious and homely. Stepping out of the main gate, you actually walk onto the beach sand. Yes the beach is that close to home. Clean sand, blue water, cool breeze and most importantly a still sparsely populated beach make it an ideal vacation spot. The caretakers of this house were very cordial and prepared for us delicious sea food dishes of our choice.
All in all, it was a memorable visit which I thoroughly enjoyed...
