Drove for 8 hours to get here just so my moms birthday wish to eat a karwari/malwani Thali. 350/- for most Thalis ,service is ok,no sauce served with dishes even on request. Taste was good but not worth visiting again. Also the washroom/toilet was disgusting with green moss growing over. And cats were eating from the Thalis left out in the back of the rest,While I love cats I don't appreciate the dirty dishes being kept on the floor. Bad hygiene.Ok ambience, not something I'd visit again.
Hindsight Edit;my entire family agrees that this was the dirtiest "posh" restaurant. The cats were licking the plates ffs,the meals were plain and not worth the money, seating was meh. God I've been to better places with lower prices. A mismatched hell which lacks integrity. The toilets were so disgusting with green moss in the effing buckets i only ate there for my mother's sake.
I love cats but this was the most deceptive place ever. Just...
Read moreGood seafood thalis, good service, little pricey.
Swami is located just before the Malvan Theatre (Natyagriha) and is very close to the Pimpal Paar.
They have only thalis on the menu, but you can order fry items separately. We had Surmai Thali, Pomfret Thali, Prawns Thali, Veg Thali and, Prawns Fry and Bangda Fry separately. The food was good, especially all the seafood, it was freshly prepared and tasty. The only vegetarian person in our family was not very happy with the veg thali though, it was ok-ish.
The service is also good - friendly and quick. The owner sits in the counter and pays attention to each and every customer. Everything is made on time, so some of the food can take time, but it's all-okay once you bite into it :-).
Price-wise, they are costlier than nearby and older restaurants, but not too much. So, a good value for...
Read moreAs per food I would say this was a pretty decent place. As the hotel shows this place has many prominent celebrities visiting them so people trust and believe this place to be extraordinary. However this hotel doesn’t have a proper restroom. If you visit the backside of this place you would see used plates thrown down to dogs and other animals to be eaten. This is very unhygienic for the price we have to pay for a decent meal. Since the outer space of the hotel is very clean nobody would suspect this mismanagement in the back. One more thing that this place is famous for its seafood hence its vegetarian food is below average. When we are in a company of people this experience may seem disappointing for vegetarians as the price we have to pay. I wish the hotel management would take a note and improve upon...
