MTDC Aurangabad is full of scamsters!!!!
MTDC Aurangabad is the BEST example of how an awesome Government property can be misutilized to the fullest. And did we hear "Customer Services"...what's that? that's something unheard of in this centrally located property, very near to the Railway Station. The staffs are super lethargic, unless you ask for and are after them..forget getting service from a bunch of lazy heads. Rooms are spacious but then wait, the AC either is equally frustrated with their nonchalant approach and makes horrible noise or they simply refuse to throw cool air. The bathroom tap leaks (may be a generic issue with almost all rooms)..we changed 2 rooms and every room had these generic problem. You call up the reception for water and they will FORCE you to BUY mineral water at extra charge, while the newly installed Kent UV Water purifier looks at you helplessly at one corner of the ground floor. The staff even went to an extent of valving off the water supply that enters to the Purifier, so that helpless guests would finally buy mineral water from them. But I could discover that and hence they didn't mess with me. Oh well, the TV doesn't work too (2 out of 3 rooms didn't work & finally the 3rd one had speaker issues)
Now comes the biggest scam...breakfast!!! there's one staff - who is into everything. He is room service guy + canteen guy + what not. This guy on your arrival would press for breakfast which should be and is convenient for guests. But then this guy, inspite of using all the government infrastructure would charge you rampant prices. The prices doesn't justify the quality and quantity he offers.
Overall, it's not a satisfactory service. If you are one, who would just want a night shelter after a hectic sight seeing, then its fine. Since you would just come back to sleep, but that sleep wont be a sound one but a melodic one with the noisy...

Read moreThe good: location on the main road near Aurangabad railway station easily found. Very big complex with AC and non AC accomodation available at a very reasonable rate. We had booked non AC accomodation since it was October. The rooms are very spacious with attached toilet, a sitting area inside the room separated from the sleeping area by a cutain and furnished with sofas and centre table. Ample good storage options with one big wooden almirah and another wooden cupboard ,a dressing table. Toilet and the room was very clean. The room had big windows with sliding glass panel and curtains. We got our room on the first block after entering through the gate. Though the accomodation was on the second floor (topmost ) it was shded by big trees which kept the rooms cool so AC was not necessary.
The bad : The windows though very big with sliding glass panel could not be kept open for ventillation as the panel with net was fully damaged the net was missing and mosquitoes swarmed in the moment we opened the glass panel for fresh air. So ventillation was a problem There is a restaurant in the complex, but filtered drinking water facility was not available. I have found filtered water facility in many other MTDC accomodations that i have been to. The lack of availability of filtered drinking water forced us to purchase bottled drinking water and thus we contributed to generation of many plastic bottle waste against my wish. As an aware traveller i dont wish to add to non recyclable toxic waste. But over all i am happy with the...
