VITS Aurangabad — Hotel in Maharashtra

Star Hotel with Budget hotel type service and maintenance, parking on the road, never book through Make my trip!!! I had booked a Suite room here and was very disappointed, here is a detailed review of each of the facility. When we first entered they checked and said that they never confirmed our booking however Make my trip had confirmed to me without consulting them. Not sure how true this is, anyway on with the review: Staff at the hotel and reception: Very courteous and responsive, the ones at the reception were very understanding. The night security were not very good, they were more rude. Suite Room : Good size for a suite however the furniture were all in dilapidated condition making noises especially the couch. The bed was not comfortable, the incline was towards the head side. I called them to fix the bed, they tried their best. No Dental Kit!!! No Shaving Kit!!! On day one I had to remind them to serve water in the room, it was not present by default nor was the tea packet. Cleanliness: Was average, once we got the room asked them to get it cleaned again immediately. Restaurant: Not very clean and on the second day the chicken was smelling weird. Buffet Breakfast: On day one they said that the eggs were over. Every time the food at the counter gets over you have to request them to refill, nothing gets done proactively. Parking: Guess what, I booked a suite in a star hotel and PARKED MY CAR ON THE ROAD.. Swimming pool: The pool water was clean, the depth was around 5 feet. There are many tiles which have come off, so be careful where you plant your feet. The changing rooms were stinking. My 8 year old refused to get in and changed outside, we were not so lucky. Indoor games: The room designated for this is short of becoming a dungeon or something, stinks of fungus, no AC, the sticks at the pool table were all broken and the cloth torn. Enter if you dare!!! TV in the rooms: They had two of those since it was a suite however none of the HD channels were subscribed to, which is the opposite of what is mentioned at make my trip. I am a member of Marriott group hotels and always stay with them, there was none at Aurangabad hence had this encounter. These folks charged be twice of what I pay to Marriott and gave such a harrowing experience. I will never go to VITS again. It would not matter much to them since there is a lot of tourist population coming here and most may not care to stay at...

We had a truly bad experience. We booked online via an aggregator, & for 2 adults & 1 child, we booked a king + single bed room. But when we actually reached the hotel, the room was a twin bed room, & the reception convinced us that we had been mistaken at the time of booking. Since it was a paid up booking, we had no choice but to check-in. Next, my daughter wanted to go swimming in the swimming pool. The hotel was conducting a swimming summer camp for kids, & we could see them, so as a courtesy, we called the reception & asked if there's a specific time after which we may use the pool. The reception informed us that (since they were holding classes) "swimming was not allowed". We were bummed. We book a hotel with a pool FOR the pool!!!! We called the aggregator , & after 4 or 5 rounds of to-&-fro with the reception, the swimming instructor, the duty manager, it was informed to us that my daughter might use the pool from 6 pm to 7 pm. Though that felt quite restrictive, we accepted, as, in any case, 1 hour would be enough for her, so, let it be any one hour. My husband & daughter went down to the pool, & my husband was asked to sit away, which is fair enough, as the parents of the students were there too, & were needed to sit away. It is after this that the real hostility started. The staff is not just rude & inhospitable, but actually hostile! They closed the door leading from the hotel to the pool, & when my daughter was done, asked my daughter & husband to exit from the place that the students used, walk around the hotel through the street outside, & enter the hotel from the main entrance !!!!! This while my daughter is half dressed & in a towel! This is unprecedented, unimaginable & insane demand, & borders on harassment. Again the aggregator had to be called, & my husband had to literally create a ruckus to get the door to the hotel opened. We have never faced such humiliation, & I have no words to express my indignation. We cancelled the booking, as we were okay to lose money rather than be mistreated like this for 3 days, & booked another, older property. The 1 star is because Tripadvisor doesn't have a zero star provision ... & we must acknowledge that aggregator MMT kept in touch constantly, & also returned the entire booking amount...

I have been staying at VITS Aurangabad since many years. But visited recently after almost 6-7 years. Many things annoyed me this time !

No one to pick our bags. Since this isn't a wheelchair friendly hotel with lots of slopes and steps, we had to drag our bags to the reception and from there to the lift lobby, each time navigating steps. No one was there to help this time.

In the Room, TV wasn't working. So i called the Reception and it was attended quicky and the TV was replaced in the room

There was power failure twice. The 2nd time my room lights and AC dis not start... I realised this when all other rooms had light and mine didn't. So did the Windows PC logic... took my key, went out, locked the door, unlocked the door and inserted the key in the key slot. And viola..the lights were back !

The Room water heater kettle needs to be thrown our and replaced with a new durable and good quality piece. This had rusted screws in the under side of the lid. This would definitely leak rusty water into the kettle. There was no coffee sachets in the pantry too. Fridge too was empty.

Worst experience was to come at Dinner.... the salad counter had a cockroach moving all over the papdi chaat. I physically moved it out and subtly asked the waiter to take this in and throw it out, and that this dish should not come back on the the buffet table.

Buffet was limited choice, chicken was spicy

Napkins were not kept in the room. Bed had ladies hair on it..so probably wasn't cleaned well before my arrival.

Proximity to Railway station is the advantage. However, proximity to busy Station Road signal, the traffic noise does creep into the room
