REGAL HOTEL MATHERAN — Hotel in Maharashtra

I had simply the best time at the Regal in my two-day trip 😄

Upon arriving and confirming our booking at the frontdesk, we were shown to our room. A well-maintained spacious suite. Bathroom clean and with water heater. Balcony has a nice chairs and great view of greenery. Main room has nice furniture and has a high-ceiling.

The food at the Regal is excellent. I tried a little bit of everything, and all of it was very good. Lunch thali meal was my favourite. Anilbhai (the manager) and Harshaben (the kitchen supervisor) were both walking around and asking if the food is good(it is). This attention and care to detail is why I rate the Regal so highly.

The Swimming Pool is perfect, pristine clear water. In total I swam for 4 hours in the pool. I had a wonderful time as I love swimming, and I made some friends at the pool to play games with. I highly recommend this, as it makes your time so much more fun!

I also played Badminton in the court and Cricket by the gardens, equipment was provided for both and both were very fun.

In the evenings, sitting on the open lawn with your feet in the grass just feels good, like you're re-connecting with nature.

My favourite thing about the Regal is: they're always trying to improve. Whatever feedback you give them, it feels like it is really taken into account and acted on. They care. Which is simply the best quality a hotel can have.

For eg, someone complained the pool had some leaves in it, so the next day they had a pool cleaning done. I mentioned that the dining space was a bit cramped, so for dinner we shifted to spacious & beautiful outdoor dining! I loved it. Outdoor Dinner under the stars was an amazing experience! ✨

I recently stayed in this hotel with friends in October. The location of the hotel is good. It is about 3 kms from Dasturi Point, but once you get to the hotel, everything is nearby. The Matheran Market is only a kilometre away, and the major tourist points like Louiza Point, Charlotte Lake etc are also at a manageable distance. Coming to the food, we had taken an all-meals package, and I would recommend you doing the same since finding good restaurants in Matheran can be a huge task! The food was amazing! The staff is so polite and they were so thoughtful about the variety of food here. We stayed for 2 days and had almost 5 meals here, and not even one dish was repeated! They freshly cook the food, and I really mean 'freshly'! I mean, I had freshly prepared bhakarwadi for the first time here! The food is pure vegetarian, but trust me you would love it even if you are a hardcore non-vegetarian like me. The rooms are okayish, not great. We stayed in Regal Cottage (which is nowhere like a Cottage!). Also, at some points in the hotel, the wifi network is not available. The dish cable network is also quite intermittent. Since you have nowhere to go out in Matheran after 5-6 pm, these things do matter. Overall, it was a nice stay and I would recommend the place, because it ticks two major aspects - Food...

Right from the Gate of the hotel..till I checked out... From the Entrance gate care taker , Reception handler Shri Anil Bhai & Mrs Harsha ma"am.. To the Cleaning staff Team , Restaurant team ... Everyone were very courteous, Polite & humble approach towards their delivering services.. Rooms were really well maintained, Washrooms also equipped with perfect sanitation & Bathfittings with 24 hours water supply with water heater in each room attached washrooms. Electricity back up was also perfect... I observed HOTEL particular team everyday maintaining landscape grass cutting , cleaning the exterior part of property along with daily maintaining the swimming pool.. Food is served pure veg with excellent 👌 taste ...with majorly gujarti food type.. But specially the chef use to keep a mix of daily 1 Punjabi sabjee & keeping non spicy food for children along with normal baby food like dal kheechi etc... Overall very well thought..n perfect delivery of day to day food ...

Overall excellent...hotel with great landscape.. soothing to human eye with excellent food...& Courteous approach of overall hotel team.. Right on the edge of the matheraan market... I personally couldn't ask for anything more ..n was overwhelmed with the experience I had.. Recommended to all & best wishes to team...
