I've been to matheran for the first time and a friend suggested me this hotel so i did an offline booking by calling the hotel and got a great deal. I did an advance payment and i was promised that i would get the booking details, which i didn't got, not even after reaching the hotel. The manager wasn't even aware of which i had booked. We reached the hotel at around 2.30pm and were denied lunch because according to them the lunch time was over. Firstly i didn't got any details for check in, check out, meals and their timing. We had an disagreement with the manager and he was adamant the if you're not ok with the hotel I'll refund you and you can look else where. This is not the type of service you'd want when you've reached the hotel and the manager says such things. I still chose to stay because i didn't had time to search for a different hotel. When i entered the room, the bedsheets were all stained and didn't look hygienic. The first thing i asked was to change the bedsheets. They didn't provide anything unless asked for. I had to ask for clean bedsheets and towels too. The towel which was provided was all mucky and smelly. Wifi was for namesake, didn't got internet access. i realised that even the geyser wasn't working in the morning and had to call to get it repaired. Booked a room for 3 people on 20th January 2022 by paying an advance of INR 2000 which Mr. Megh (+918796257261 - number mentioned on their official website on Google) readily accepted and also agreed that if we choose to cancel shall be refunded. 6th February 2022 we intimated him of cancelation due to demise of a family member and despite of repeated reminders on Whatsapp this person hasn't refunded my money. He has all the time in the world to read the messages and change his DP on whatsapp but no courtesy to message back. When we called him and confronted him he keeps saying it is weekend and "Dekhenge" but when taking money he doesn't say "Dekhenge" or which day it is. Never expected such animal type behavior from here. Maybe Covid19 has made them forget ethics and morals of business and also the meaning of hospitality. The booking was for 26th and 27th February 2022 so its not even like we informed a day before or something. Read moreOur initial reaction when we entered the room was very negative. But it improved after staying a day. Let me try to bring out both good and the bad.
Good: The hotel is very well designed. The canopy in carom area is super nice and cozy
Swimming pool is neat and clean
The food(pure veg) is very good
Discotheque was functional daily
Rooms are very spacious
Bad: Cleanliness in rooms and the passage(especially outside room no 119 and 120). Pic attached.
The hotel infrastructure needs some serious update. The AC in our room was plugged into electric socket on loose wire. See attached Pic.
Service needs to be improved. We had to request towels and soap.
The management is not very keen on taking feedback. It looked like as long as cash is flowing in they are content. No desire to improve.
The hotel is costly based on the creeping infrastructure.
The staff needs to improve their politeness. They weren't bothered. It was like we don't care , we will get the stuff done but not talk to you.
