Gist||------||A joyful, relaxing trip, I must say!!!||A walking distance from the beach allowed us to keep our car keys locked away in the hotel drawer.||||Our group||----------------||We were 3 families totalling 13 members. Two rooms & 3 cottages were ours. There were total 3 rooms & 3 cottages with a terrace providing a wonderful sea view mixed with rain drops & heavy wind on your face.||||About Resort||---------------------||Resort is not a typical hotel. It looks more like a property having a single big 3-room rectangular house with 3 out-houses. There is no cafeteria or pantry facility. When it is time for food or snacks, they set up the table and chairs in the common area and serve food. But service was amazing. Though there were some hiccups, we never felt it irritating or disturbing because they were trying their best.||||There is a small kitchen where they make bread-toast, omelettes, tea, coffee. Rest of the food items have to be ordered at least 4 hours before, so that they can order it from outside. Based on our request, the hotel team arranged to deliver home made food, and we enjoyed that thoroughly. Our team were mostly vegetarians but we had some members who were non-vegetarians. The hotel team asked our choice of fish and other non-veg items, and accordingly purchased from the fish market, prepared and served the non-veg food.||||Experience||------------------||Most of our team being kids in the age of 13 to 23, they were never in the resort. There is a long walk path parallel to the beach that takes them to the beach. The beach side also had granite laden seating facilities.||||Our elders, mostly above 55, enjoyed the resort ambience. Just pull up the chairs kept in the sidelines, and get around talking, ordering tea & snacks. Some of them went to the beach and sat by the beach side, thanks to the seating facilities provided.||||Rooms were neat and clean. Since we were there for more than a day, we requested them to swipe the floors, and they prompty did it in all the rooms. Good service attitude of the Hotel team.||||Since some of us were early risers, we spend a good time in the Resort terrace watching the sea waves, and enjoying the cool breeze with drizzling rain and hot tea.||||Network||------------||They had WIFI routers setup at multiple points, so we never felt a need to turn on our data packs. But we don't remember spending times on the mobile at the resort. We had a luxury of getting wet while returning back from the beach due to a sudden rainfall that surprised us all.||||Plus Point of our trip||----------------------------------||We planned our trip during Ganesh Chaturthi. So we had the opportunity to see Ganesh visarjan of many neighbouring households who came to send off their Ishtadev at the beach. Of course, all were maintaining social distancing norms. ||||All in all, a wonderful, memorable experience. Thank you Sanman Resort....
Read moreOn our first trip to Alibag towards 2019 end, we had visited Varsoli Beach and spotted Sanman Beach Resort (SBR) at the forlorn end of a not so popular but very beautiful beach. From the first sighting itself, I longed for a stay at the property. With Covid-19 playing havoc in 2020 and inflicting maximum damage to the tourism sector, we patiently waited. In February 2021, we finally decided to visit Alibag again and the property was fully booked in all the weekends right till end April. We landed at Alibag on a Thursday by the catamaran service from Gateway of India for a two-night stay at SBR. ||||Let’s make something amply clear at the outset – Sanman Beach Resort (SBR) is no resort, it at the best can be described as a small hotel. But three aspects, the property can truly boast of are its location, location and location! From the hotel entrance, one needs to cross a 10-ft. wide road and another 15 ft. of a sloped path through the boulders placed there to prevent the erosion and one hits the beach. ||||SBR has three rooms at the front and three cottages across a small patch of garden with lush greenery all around. The rooms numbered 1 & 2 have unhindered sea-view on one complete end of the room with large glass windows. The room # 3 has its sea-view blocked by another property in its front. We stayed at room # 1; it was quite a spacious accommodation (20 ft. x 15 ft.) with a large king-sized bed and a futon sofa bed to take care of the kids. The toilet (8 ft. x 5 ft.) was adequate with all modern fittings. ||||We enjoyed ‘kanda-pohe’ and ‘bread-omelette’ as our breakfast on two days. The pomfret and bombil (Bombay Duck) fries ordered in two evenings were simply superb to say the least – one can expect the freshest seafood in Alibag. The behaviour of one and all - young fellows managing the front office of SBR and the wait staff serving food was impeccable.||||If we visit Alibag again, Sanman Beach Resort will always be our...
Read moreI am not at all interested to give the ratings to this resort as the features portrayed in the portal is absolutely false. The only plus point is the beach just in front of the resort. The staff is very polite and helpful but the services featured in the portal is really very poor. The AC in the cottages that v had booked was not at all working due to which we along with our kids had to saty outside the room continuously, the taps in the bathroom were leaking continuously and we were also not able to avail the facility of the TV provided due to frequent power failure. I agree the food was ok but the inconvenience was that v had to order from their own restaurant where the quantity provided was not at all sufficient for the all the people there...But the cost was high as compared to the quantity... Proper hospitality was not there at all..we had to tell the staff to provide us with water as in other hotels basic amenities such as water, towel, soap etc are being provided without telling them. They themselves keep all this things once they know that the guests are coming. So really sorry to say that we all were totally disappointed with Sanman Resort, only the thing we enjoyed is the beach else nothing special about the resort.. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING ... Not worth at all to...
