Hotel Review: A Safe, Comfortable, and Budget-Friendly Stay
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a positive overall experience. It’s a newly built property with a clean and safe environment, especially suitable for couples and families. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the pricing is quite reasonable for the facilities provided.
Safety & Security: The hotel is fully monitored by CCTV, which ensures good security throughout the premises. There is a security guard present, although parking can be a bit tight on weekends. Car parking is available under the hotel, but it may be a bit challenging during peak days.
Rooms & Facilities: The rooms are neat and well-ventilated with a pleasant ambiance. Some of the key amenities provided in the room include:
Air conditioning
Ceiling fan
Mosquito repellent
Clean towels and slippers
Luggage rack
Cupboard
Attached bathroom with basic toiletries like shampoo and soap (Note: no dental kit was provided)
Fridge Information: Please note that there is no individual fridge in the room. I only found out at checkout that there is a common refrigerator available for guests to use. It would have been helpful if the staff had informed me about this earlier.
Check-in & Check-out:
Check-in time: 3:00 PM
Check-out time: 12:00 PM The check-in process was smooth. I suggest contacting the hotel directly for bookings instead of going through third-party apps like MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, etc., as you might get better communication and offers.
Location: The hotel is in a convenient location—about 6 km from the railway station and just 2 km from the beach. It’s great for travelers who want to explore nearby tourist spots.
Services & Support: The reception was helpful and provided good support for tourists, including:
Local sightseeing guidance
Taxi and auto booking
Rental car and bike arrangements
Cold drinks available at the reception
Tea/coffee kits provided in the room
24-hour hot and cold water supply
Staff & Hospitality: The staff were friendly, polite, and ready to help with anything needed. Their helpful nature made the stay comfortable.
Overall Experience: This hotel is a great option for a safe, clean, and budget-friendly stay. The rooms are well-maintained, and the staff is supportive. Just keep in mind that fridge access is shared. I would definitely recommend this place for both short and long stays. Don’t forget to ask for a visiting card or check their pictures/videos...
Read moreI was drawn in by the glowing reviews and relentless social media promotions, but my recent stay from the 15th to the 18th August, that turned out to be a huge disappointment.
To start with, the bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable.
It squeaked with every movement, making it nearly impossible to get a decent night’s sleep.
The noise and discomfort were unbearable, which seriously impacted our overall experience.
The issues didn’t end there. We encountered a major problem with the WiFi - it was non-existent throughout our stay. For a place that claims to offer modern amenities, this was unacceptable.
Additionally, there was no food available on the premises, which left us scrambling for meals. The lack of cutlery was another inconvenience, making it difficult to eat anything we managed to procure.
Service was a major letdown. The in-house staff, particularly Anantha, who managed bike rentals, and the main manager, seemed to lack professionalism.
We were overcharged for the rental bike and even for simple items like water bottles and clean sheets.
It was frustrating to deal with these issues, especially since it was a long weekend and we couldn’t find alternative accommodation.
The place was also quite noisy, which was exacerbated by the fact that there’s no lift. Fortunately, we were on the first floor, so climbing the stairs wasn’t too bad, but this could be a significant inconvenience for others.
Overall, the property was filthy and uncomfortable, especially considering the price we paid.
The disconnect between the attractive online portrayal and the reality of our stay was stark.
My advice to the management is to improve your offline services to match your online promises.
It’s crucial to address these issues to prevent future guests from experiencing the same dissatisfaction.
I cannot recommend this place based on my experience, and I hope the team takes this feedback seriously to make necessary...
Read moreWe were a group of three people and booked our stay at Hotel Auro Mansion through Agoda, mainly because there was a noticeable price difference—Agoda offered a rate that was ₹1000 cheaper than booking directly with the hotel. That definitely made it a more cost-effective option for us.
Check-in Experience: The check-in time is 2 PM, which we felt was a bit too late, especially since most buses from Chennai or nearby areas tend to reach Pondicherry early in the morning. While early check-in is possible, they charge ₹150 per hour, which can add up quickly. However, the staff was helpful and polite, and they allowed us to keep our luggage safely in their luggage room until our check-in time, which was appreciated.
Room Quality: The rooms were nice, clean, and quite spacious, which worked well for us since we were three people. We requested an extra bed, and it fit into the room without making it feel cramped. The setup was comfortable for our stay.
Downsides: One thing that stood out as a major flaw was their policy on linens and towels. They only provide one set of bedsheets and towels for the entire duration of the stay, and they explicitly mentioned that they wouldn't replace or provide fresh ones, which felt quite unreasonable for a hotel of this standard.
Additionally, when we requested room service, they merely swept the floor. The bed wasn't made, and used linens were not cleaned or replaced, which was disappointing. Some basic housekeeping is expected, especially for multi-day stays.
Overall: Hotel Auro Mansion offers good value if you're booking through platforms like Agoda, and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff is polite and accommodating, but the late check-in time and limited housekeeping services might be inconvenient for some travelers. A bit more flexibility and attention to cleanliness would really enhance the overall guest...
