Pondy Eats — Restaurant in Puducherry

I spotted this lovely eatery on my way to a restaurant for dinner. It looked interesting, so I decided to step in for just a minute to check out their menu.

That one-minute turned into five as I chatted with their extremely friendly and hospitable owners and ended up having the perfect meal I needed at that time -- Ghar Ki Thali -- which, as the name suggests is as healthy and wholesome as home made food.

I've been having my dinners there, everyday, since that first thali :-)

It's a very clean and cozy place with beautiful vibes and super-friendly owners.

They have several other dishes on their menu, like fancier meals, curries, sandwiches, chaat items among others.

I strongly recommend "Pondy Eats" as a clean and cosy place where you can literally eat everyday without messing...

Just after arriving in Pondicherry, we (a cranky and hungry pack of 5) waded in at Pondy Eats around 4 pm: neither lunch nor dinner time. Yet, the woman welcomed us with a nice and warm smile. Notwithstanding the communication issues (we spoke only English, she mostly Tamil) we had a great meal. The dishes were lip smackingly tasty and very reasonably priced. So on our last evening in Pondicherry, we ordered food again. The woman looked somewhat overwhelmed and overworked and had material left for only paranthas, but worked at full speed to get a delicious pile of them ready.

All in all, a really great place that should not be missed, but the service could be improved a small bit, e.g. by having another cook/helper in...

Our new go to place in Pondicherry for some delectable North Indian snacks and Cuisine. The owner, Mr Pratik Jain and his partner along with staff are extremely friendly and happy go lucky people. The best part is that food is served in Sal leaf plates, something which is extremely hard to find these days and which also somehow adds to the taste of the food. It reminds of the 90s when food in any wedding or house party would be served on these plates. Do try Kachori with Aloo sabzi, samosa with green chutney, chats, stuffed...
