Stay at Best Western Jalandhar: A Mixed Experience
Our recent stay at the Best Western Jalandhar had its highlights, but there were some areas that could use improvement. Here’s an overview of our experience:
Location
The hotel’s location is undoubtedly one of its biggest assets. It is situated conveniently close to major transit points, making it ideal for travelers. Whether you’re arriving by road or rail, the property is easily accessible. Moreover, it’s near the heart of Jalandhar, with proximity to popular landmarks, shopping hubs, and local attractions, which allowed us to explore the city effortlessly.
Rooms
While the rooms were spacious and comfortable, there were some downsides. The bathrooms were surprisingly small, which felt a bit cramped compared to the size of the rooms. Additionally, the rooms lacked a proper view, with windows either facing a petrol pump or another building. This might not matter to some, but for those who enjoy natural light or scenic views, it could be disappointing. However, the interiors were well-maintained, and the overall cleanliness and amenities provided made the stay comfortable.
Food
The culinary experience at Best Western Jalandhar was exceptional. The in-house restaurant served a wide variety of dishes, catering to both local and international tastes. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, offering fresh, delicious options ranging from Indian staples like parathas and dosas to continental choices like croissants and cereals. The quality and presentation of the food were commendable, and the staff ensured all dietary preferences were well taken care of.
Amenities
The hotel offers a range of modern amenities, making it a great choice for both leisure and business travelers. The fitness center was adequately maintained, providing a decent space for workouts. One notable feature was the ample parking space, which made it incredibly convenient for guests traveling by car.
Services
The hospitality at Best Western Jalandhar was top-notch. From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel welcome and attended to our needs promptly. Housekeeping was thorough and efficient, ensuring our room was always clean and well-stocked. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries.
Overall Experience
While Best Western Jalandhar impressed us with its excellent service, food, and convenient location, the lack of a view and the small bathrooms in the otherwise spacious rooms were notable drawbacks. It’s a good option for travelers seeking comfort and practicality, but those who value room aesthetics and functionality might want to consider these factors...
Read moreAfter landing in Dehli and then travelling through the night to the Best Western Plus, it was a relief to be able to check in early. On top of this, the receptionist offered a welcome room upgrade.
The room is spacious and has two TV's with the second in the lounge area. Although, I did not find any English speaking channels. The bed is large but comfortable. There is some wear and tear but an acceptable amount. My only issue with the room is that the shower could have been more powerful and the water, hotter as it was just a few degrees above warm.
The restaurant is well lighted, clean and the service and food delightful. A huge special shout out to BINDRA who really looked out for us. She also helped us with recommendations on where to go and what is in fashion.
BINDRA is in her twenties, slim, tall and fair skinned and looking for a Sidhar ! Thank you Bindra for your service and help.
The location of Best Western Plus is on the outskirts of Jalandhar and not far from the Haveli but not a lot else is nearby except other hotels. However, only a few minutes drive away is Model Town and Joyti Chowk.
In front of the hotel is GT Road - but the noise from this did not affect our sleep, we were in room 106.
As it is December, we didn't use the pool but we did on our previous visit and found it more than adequate. The salon is very useful if you are visiting and attending events for hair and makeup.
The bar is social and caters for most expected drinks and a good meeting point in the evening.
I hope this review helps others with their choice.
Finally, thank you Usher and Enuckshmi for their help with transport when I first arrived and Mukesh for his service in the restaurant and Balbeer the chef for the wonderful food and helpful food advice. From Mr...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Best Western Plus hotel and wanted to share my experience. Initially, there was a mix-up with room availability, but they eventually provided a suite for which I paid around 10k. The room itself was decent, but I encountered issues with both room service and the washroom taps. The main concern arose when I ordered food; the rice was undercooked, and the chicken seemed overcooked, with a chewy texture as if it had been reheated multiple times or was quite old.
I contacted the staff twice about the food quality, and they assured me they would consult with the chef and call me back. Unfortunately, after waiting for two hours without a response, I went to bed hungry. The next morning at checkout, I discussed the matter again. The staff mentioned they would inform their senior, but a junior staff member began blaming me, stating they had called and visited my room, but I didn’t answer. Despite my explanation, they seemed unresponsive.
Additionally, 4-5 team members, including the chef, were present at the end to find a solution, but they didn’t listen to their customer. Instead, they relied on the account of a junior waiter who falsely claimed to have visited my room and called me. When I requested to see the camera footage to verify if anyone had come to the room, they denied access.
In essence, no one was there to assist a paying customer who had experienced their...
