Club Mahindra Kumbhalgarh: Great Stay with a few shortcomings

Overall: My stay at Club Mahindra Kumbhalgarh was a great experience, but there are some aspects which could have been better. The resort is beautiful, and some aspects were excellent, like the friendly staff and adventure activities. However, inconsistencies in room quality, limited buffet options, and minor service issues detracted from the overall experience.

Accommodation:

1BR #1145: Spacious and comfortable, great view from balcony, but lacked a lift in the two-story unit.

Tent Room #2235: Good location and cute design, but design suffered from dim lighting, cramped space, and signs of wear and neglect in maintenance (weathered woodwork, scratched flooring). Lighting inside the tea/coffee cabinet would be helpful.

Activities:

eBiking: Highly recommended! Reasonably priced and the staff Ankit was very friendly.

Pottery: A fun activity.

Activity Center: Mixed experience. Air hockey machine malfunctioned without staff knowledge.

Adventure Activities: Enjoyable activities with good packages.

Dining:

Buffet: Limited spread, lacking variety in non-vegetarian and kid-friendly options, hence not value for money even with pre-booking discounts. Some items (e.g., non-veg soup) required specific requests. The chef (both Chefs, male and female) deserve credit for being open to feedback and accommodating special requests.

Travel Desk:

Vehicles and Drivers: Excellent, well-maintained vehicles, and professional drivers.

Pricing: Pickup, drop-off, and sightseeing tours were a bit on the expensive side (about 25% more than others).

Route Selection: Disappointed with the chosen route back to Udaipur. Despite paying for a dedicated cab, they took a shorter route which was under construction so really rough, causing discomfort.

Conclusion:

Club Mahindra Kumbhalgarh has the potential to be a great resort with its beautiful location and friendly staff. However, improvements are needed in room maintenance, buffet variety, and service consistency to create a Wow experience....

The staff are exceptionally polite and cooperative, ensuring a comfortable stay. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ The Naaz art and handicrafts shop offers a wide variety of products, including purses, dresses, skin care, hair care and many more.. albeit at a slightly higher price point.

The swimming pool 🏊🏻‍♀️ provides a refreshing retreat! Additionally, the property offers adventure activities tailored for children and teenagers, providing them with exciting experiences during their stay. Moreover, guests have access to bicycles 🚲 , allowing them to explore the surrounding area at their leisure, adding an extra element of fun to their vacation.

while the restaurant delights with delicious Rajasthani and Gujarati delicacies 🍽️🧁 Although all the dishes are delicious I am just in love with all their deserts 🥮🧁🍨

Club Mahindra Kumbhalgarh is one of the larger resorts of the chain and is located at a beautiful location very close to the Kumbhalgarh fort. The resort itself is very well maintained, with well appointed rooms. The pool is amazing and well maintained. The activity center is fairly decent with the usual paraphernalia you would find at any CM resort. On one of our nights, they had the Langas and Kalbelias- local artists who are world renowned for their craft, perform live for the guests while they served dinner in an open setting. It was a night to remember!! The staff was courteous and efficient although I did miss the sense of warmth you usually get at other properties. The food was very good, although a little bit on the oily side. Overall, a great experience at the resort. Now a couple of negatives which resulted in me taking off a star. When we checked in, we had to use the toilet near the reception. Maybe it was due to be cleaned in some time, but it was stinky and unclean. Absolutely not expected from Club Mahindra. We stayed in one of the tent rooms, which was a great experience in itself. However, the floor boards were wooden and held together by iron nails. On the first day itself I asked housekeeping to hammer in a few nails as some were sticking out. On the day after, I stepped on one of the nails - although no significant damage done, these are the sort of things they absolutely need to take care of. So some scope of improvement, but overall a...
