Kha-choe Residency — Hotel in Sikkim

Kha Choe residency is a well maintained place with great staff and owners. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed great hospitality. The place is located away from the main Ravangla tourist area so very quiet atmosphere. We didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Mr Karma as he was away but Mrs Karma gave personal attention to us and made us feel at home. The staff especially Pranay were very polite and friendly. My son made instant friends with Daghil and their friendly dog Bingo and was way too happy playing in the courtyard all day. ||The head chef made great food, with some traditional Sikkimese/Tibetan varieties and I had my best meals in all of Sikkim here. Food was served hot, rotis were served fresh out of the oven and everything was tasty. ||Overall a place I would definitely visit again. ||Few things to note : there was no wifi so Ensure you have data roaming on mobile. Reception was also patchy like in many areas of Sikkim given the location. |The residency itself doesn’t have mountain views but if you take a walk up the main road you get great views. |Room heaters were charged additional. |The location is 10mins drive from Ravangla bus stand and there are no amenities within walking distance. Cars can be called quickly upon request but better to have dinners at the resort given the early sunset and distance to other restaurants. Very good property, it seems owner craft the each detail of the property. Maintenance and amenities in the room is equivalent to any 3 star property. Owner given a very warm reception and ensure a comfortable stay. He was involved in every basic requirements be it our dinner or breakfast. We are pure vegetarian and ensured to cook separately for us and tried his best to present most delicious food. He was personally available along with his spouse to take care during our dinner and breakfast. There is a separate barbeque Hut which one can pre-booked and enjoy. I visited this place in December end of 2019. The experience is exceptional. The property is surrounded by lush green habitation. One should just go there and stay with amazing people. The staff is friendly. The food is excellent. There is a nice dining to have that nice food but you can sit out or sit in the treehouse to have food or just chill out. It was really cold but you can get room heater with additional charges.||||You can get bonfire too.
