The cottages themselves are beautifully designed and exude a charming, soothing atmosphere. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of Joshimath, each cottage offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Waking up to such natural beauty was a treat for the senses.

Chitra and her family went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and memorable. The cottages are well-maintained and offer all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The interiors are cozy and tastefully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the place. I had an absolutely incredible experience at Faraway Cottages in Auli! From the moment we arrived, the exceptional staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Chef Sandeep's culinary skills were a highlight, with every meal being a delight for our taste buds.

A special shoutout to Anuj, the resident manager, who not only guided us through the tricky route even late at night but also helped arrange cab services and provided much-needed cash assistance in a pinch, as there was no ATM nearby.

Suraj and Priyanshu were the epitome of hospitality, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. The room's view was nothing short of breathtaking, and the staff's effort in decorating our room for our special day and surprising us with a delicious cake made it an unforgettable celebration.

Just completed a 2 week stay at Faraway during a 2 month tour of Uttarakhand. We were looking for a hotel that is away from the busy-ness of Joshimath and the touristy feel of Auli, while still feeling like we were in the middle of the snow capped mountains along with having modern amenities and comfort. We got exactly this - Faraway has been the best stay so far in our tour - it's a brand new property and Chitra and Kunal (the owners) have tastefully designed and appointed with very large bedrooms and bathrooms with a modern, European-design feel.

The professional photos are exactly how the rooms look when you go inside. The upper floor rooms are excellent as they have high ceilings and expansive views.

Before arriving here, we researched most of the hotels in the Auli and Joshimath area, and are glad we went with Faraway. This is likely the most beautiful property in the area and is in a super quiet and tranquil location.
