This resort has the best view of Nanda devi pìeak, second highest Himalayan peak in India. It was hard to find a good resort in Auli. When I first zeroed in on Casa Himalayas it took my breath away but rates were steep. Fortunately, came across Mountain Rover managed by the same team and within the premises of Casa Himalaya. Mountain Rover resort is perched at a height and a flight of steps…about total 50 steps leads to the rooms. So accessibility for Senior Citizens may be a problem. These rooms were mainly made for mountaineers and trekkers as a transit night halt we are informed. So the rooms are basic and rustic but we are informed that they would be renovated soon. The rooms have been provided with good tower heaters and electric blankets which are essential for the bitterly cold winters of Auli. The buffet meals are served at Casa Himalaya. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious wide spread buffet breakfast and dinners at Casa Himalaya. The sunrise and sunset views on the Nanda Devi Peaks from Mountain Rover are absolutely gorgeous and to get this view from the comfort of the bed is truly the icing on the cake! They have a cosy cafe in the premises and we had an amazing veg burger with fries one evening and it was awesome. Kudos to Mr. Ajay Bhat for creating these awesome properties in Auli. We stayed for two nights and loved our stay thanks to the efforts of the amazing staff Nitin Bhat, Manoj Pandey, Ashish Bhat,...
Read moreYes, I lived in a room in Heaven once! Woke up to the mighty Nanda Devi Range staring at us from the 180° window from our sumptuous cottage called Snow Leopard. When you reach a place like that, you fall silent. It is a miracle, Ajay Bhatt ji could create such a a luxurious place in that wilderness of mountains. It has an attached in house cafe and a new 5 star property attached to the old ones. The place is relatively new, is almost next to the Chair Car, a barely two minutes walk. It is difficult to procure food at such an altitude, but they are doing a brilliant job. Generally people halt at Joshimath whoever comes from Haridwar or Dehradun, but we the brave adventurous souls decided to reach Auli by car. We reached Joshimath about 5.30pm and took another two hours to reach Auli and an additional half hour to the hotel. It looked like a dream, and we were welcomed with hot coffee. It was bitter cold at about 3° C at that time and we could hardly breathe, due to exhaustion and height. However the hotel boys made us as comfortable as home, and welcomed us to warm beautiful rooms and food. We danced around the bonfire on the other nights. Our stay was for 6 days and we hated to leave. This hotel was a rare find for us and we consider ourselves lucky. No amount of stars would be good enough for...
Read moreI had taken an all inclusive package (accomodation+food+sightseeing) for 5 nights by paying a premium amount. While the rooms are clean and has good view of the mountain, the overall stay was not good since: There was no hot water in the room. We used to call for a bucket of hot water everyday. Although meals were included in the package, on 3/5 days, the staff did not pack/provide lunch during sightseeing which ruined the whole sightseeing experience. Also, no evening snacks were provided on 3/5 days. We are asked for additional amount for sightseeing even when it was covered in the package No wifi connectivity in the room. Staff provided water bottles only on request. No coordination between the hotel manager and tour guide, and so we had a bad sightseeing experience on many days We were made to wait at Joshimath market in the car everyday in the evening so that the hotel guys could do their personal stuff like buy groceries/ veggies/ chicken/ mutton, give clothes for laundry, etc. Irresponsible Manager
Overall a bad experience and we feel it was a complete waste of money. Would not recommend the travellers to take an inclusive...
