Better to avoid this place.
Where to start???
Right from the entry to the hotel all I had was problems.
The hotel is on a prime location. 100 meters from east entrance of the temple. Well, thats about it for the positives.
The entry to the hotel is a one lane path. At a time a car can enter or exit. So if you end up two cars facing each other you are in for a tug off war. The parking is behind the hotel and it is the basement of the owners house. 6 small cars can fit in. The slope is very steep and scary. The watchman was demanding money from the minute i parked. The check-in process is age old. All nonsense details like anniversary, etc. To be filled. We booked online few weeks earlier than the stay. When we checked in they informed about some renovations happening on third floor and there could be some noise. No courtesy to keep us informed a bit earlier. The 'some noise' they mentioned was actually a jack hammer drilling on the floor above. It was unbearable. They would start from 7AM and go till 5:30PM. The hotel was horribly dirty, the lift was from 1990s grill type very small for a person to move with some baggage. The room was very small, smelly and the ac was so bad that they already gave a pedestal fan. Bathroom was equally bad. The doors had no stoppers, so it was a real hassle to keep them open at times of need. The bathroom door was so hard to close and open that you need a well built guy to handle it. The cupboard was half finished plywood. Overall the room was comparable to a lodge. The room service was non existent. I ordered tea and the moment i saw the flask they brought i felt like throwing up. Had to live with this place as i had a function to attend the next day. I was just hoping to check out asap. I came back from the function the next day at 12:30 and told the receptionist to prepare the bills as im going to checkout. Within the time i could pack i got a harsh call from the same receptionist asking whether I'm checking out or they will extend the stay. They totally and conveniently forgot that they took their sweet time to give my room when i checked in. Thats all i could bear and gave a piece of my mind to her. When i went to get the car out of parking I found that to be locked by another car and the watchman was nowhere to be found. With a bit of louder voice i got them to help me get my car out and flee from the place.
I'm still from shock of seeing that its a 3 star hotel....
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this hotel, and I must say, it was one of the most disappointing and frustrating stays I've ever had. From the moment I made the booking, things started to go downhill. The front office staff (Durga and Suganya) were incredibly rude and unhelpful, and it became evident that they had no intention of delivering on the promises they made before I made my payment. Before I arrived, I called the hotel to confirm certain amenities, and I was assured that everything I needed would be available. However, upon checking in, I quickly realized that these promises were empty words meant to secure a booking. The room I was given was nothing like the one I was shown in the pictures during the booking process. It was outdated, poorly maintained, and lacked even the most basic amenities that were supposed to be included. When I questioned the front desk about the discrepancies, they brushed me off with an attitude that can only be described as dismissive and disrespectful. They seemed completely disinterested in addressing my concerns and made it clear that they were not going to make any effort to rectify the situation. It felt like they had already gotten what they wanted – my money – and didn't care about providing the service they had advertised. To make matters worse, I had paid for certain additional services which were promised to be included in my stay, but when I inquired about them, the front office staff denied any knowledge of such offerings. It was as if I was being gaslighted. The frustration and disappointment I felt were overwhelming, and it truly ruined the entire purpose of my trip.
I would strongly advise anyone considering staying at this hotel to think twice. The false information provided by the front office staff, along with their rude and unhelpful demeanor, made this a stay I would rather forget. I believe in honest and transparent business practices, and this hotel fell far short of those standards. My experience here was a painful lesson, and I hope my review serves as a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Akshsya in Chidambaram, and it proved to be a wonderful experience for my family. The hotel truly lived up to its reputation as a family-friendly establishment.
One of the standout features of Hotel Akshsya was its dedicated parking available at the backside of the hotel. This made it convenient for us to park our vehicle securely without any hassle. It was reassuring to know that our transportation needs were taken care of.
The hotel's proximity to the Natarajar Temple East Gopuram was a major advantage. We were able to visit the temple conveniently, as it was just a short distance away. This proximity allowed us to immerse ourselves in the divine atmosphere and experience the architectural marvels of the temple with ease.
Moreover, the fact that Adyar Anand Bhavan residency was available within the same premises as Hotel Akshsya was an added bonus. We could enjoy delicious meals and snacks at this well-known restaurant without having to travel far. The convenience of having a renowned eatery on-site made our dining experiences delightful and hassle-free.
Hotel Akshsya itself provided a comfortable and pleasant stay for our family. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and spacious enough to accommodate our needs. The staff members were friendly, courteous, and always ready to assist us with any requests or queries we had. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to our overall experience.
Overall, our stay at Hotel Akshsya in Chidambaram was highly satisfying. The family-friendly environment, dedicated parking, close proximity to the Natarajar Temple East Gopuram, and the presence of Adyar Anand Bhavan resis within the premises made it a convenient and enjoyable choice for us. I would recommend Hotel Akshsya to families visiting Chidambaram, as it offers a comfortable stay and easy access to local...
