Mixed Experience: Suitable for Solo or Business Travel
Pros:
They have a good space for parking opposite to their hotel which is very convenient and finding a parking space at any time of the day is like a Child's play.
They give you a token for the complementary breakfast which you can use it in the A2B restaurant below for a Mini Tiffen they provide in the morning around 7:30 am to 10:00 am. (The staff at the A2B would not be as friendly when you show them the token. They might treat you like you came to eat there for free😅 - experienced this both days)
The helper staff are friendly and would help by bringing you any necessities with a smile on their face.
Cons:
We booked through the Agoda app which is nearly 500 rupees cheaper than the receptionist mentioned. There were 2 options Standard & Deluxe rooms and we booked the deluxe room which was mentioned as the larger room. But in reality, there is literally no difference between the standard and deluxe rooms, they are like identical twins 😅. May be they tricked us or may be not..
The switches and electronics in the room are in pathetic condition.. But they still work..
The last day of our stay, they had to mention us every time they see us that the checkout time is 11:00am. Got intimated around 8:00am once and around 9:30am twice. Not sure if they forgot that they intimated us early or if they had a bad expert with some other earlier bookings.
Would I stay here again?
Not if I'm travelling with my family. But solo or on a business trip, I might consider staying here if my work is...
Read moreThe location is bad. But they also scammed us with first offering two deluxe room then giving us one deluxe and one standard room. The lady on the call shared photos of deluxe room that we will be using but then overbooked it with other people. When we challenged she told us that she gave us one deluxe and one executive room - which is a joke! Be careful when you book with them - they seem to overbook and are not coordinated.
2nd and our biggest reason to leave - there are no smoke detector in the hotel. People openly smoke in their room which causes problem for others.
The first few rooms they showed - even the pillow cases were smelling of smoke. The hallway always smells of smoke. Do throughly check your room before you pay any money - once you pay them - they will hold you hostage to your money and will not refund the amount. When we encountered smell of smoke and the fact that they misleaded us with the room type (ie only gave one deluxe room instead of two promised) we asked for refund and they out rightly denied.
Room itself stinks because of all the smokes. But also the stains in the bedsheet are not throughly taken care of. See attached.
I must say however the staff working there are VERY VERY HELPFUL and are highlight of our stay in this place.
Do note that it is very difficult to find any taxi because how remote is the hotel - will recommend finding a Airbnb that...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Aruna Inn, Chennai in March, booking the room for ₹2000. The experience was quite average with both positives and negatives.
The road leading to the hotel is in very poor condition, with heavy traffic, making the approach to the property inconvenient. Upon arrival, the check-in process was extremely slow, taking nearly half an hour. Even though I had booked through Goibibo, the receptionist was not aware of my booking, which created a very uncomfortable and somewhat scary situation.
The room itself was disappointing for the price. It was very small, there were stains on the bed, and the TV was not working. On the positive side, the AC worked well, the washroom was clean, and outside food was allowed. The complimentary breakfast was provided in the form of a mini tiffin, which was actually a nice touch and one of the better parts of the stay.
Additionally, the hotel is not well connected by public transport and is located about 5 km from the airport, making travel inconvenient without private transport.
Overall, Hotel Aruna Inn offers a few decent amenities like good AC, clean washroom, and satisfactory breakfast, but the poor road condition, inefficient check-in, small room with maintenance issues, and lack of transport connectivity made the stay below expectations. It turned out to be a very...
