Adyar Ananda Bhavan - A2B — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Stayed in the Hotel above A2B for 2 days.

Day 1:

Had lunch here on the first day and we ordered Tomato soup, Gobi 65, Chapati and paneer butter masala.

The tomato soup was okay but the bread cubes they put in it tasted so bad like they were stinky. The Gobi 65 was good and the chapati’s gravy that came with it was slightly spicy than normal. They provide you with the worst-tasting Paneer butter masala. Never in my life had I had this worst paneer butter masala and that too from a good hotel chain like A2B.

At night we ordered food to our room and the food was good. We loved the uthapam and the Gobi Manchurian.

Day 2:

We were given tokens from the hotel accommodation for the complimentary breakfast. The waiter at A2B placed the tumblers with water and asked for our order and we gave the tokens to him. We asked him what our food would be and he did not reply and went back. We felt weird and did not mind. Then he brought us mini Tiffen and went back on his routine. We asked him for chutney and he did not respond and did not bring it. After a couple of minutes, we asked another waiter to bring the chutney. It was weird and we thought this guy might be having a bad day.

Day 3:

On the last day of our stay, we sat at the same spot as yesterday and there was a different waiter today. He was about to pour the water into the tumblers and we gave him the tokens, the waiter got the tokens and left without pouring water. Then after a couple of minutes, he brought 2 mini tiffens and dropped them on the table and was not even near our hands and he walked out fast. Seemed rude and my friend got so pissed. We complained to the supervisor who was there and she apologised to us saying that they might have been in a hurry. The hotel was not even crowded and most spots were empty at the time we had breakfast.

The food is okay but the service here is the worst you can experience. The supervisor herself told us that they have been getting so many complaints lately and she was sorry for that. This all happened only after explaining to her that this has been happening for the past 2 times we came here with a complimentary breakfast token.

You will lose the will to eat if you are looking to be served properly. I would not recommend this A2B branch not even the people I hate...

Worst to the core. Pathentic staffs. The free waiters won't attend you, but will chat with their colleges. When you ask something to them, even if you ask for additional kurma or sambar, these irresponsible chatting waiters reply like, your table is not mine, ask your waiter.

They take more than 25 minutes to take order, at the same time, I can see many waiters are irresponsibly chatting and roaming. Just 1 or 2 guys work in the complete restaurant.

Murugan idly shop, and other rivals are far better than these guys.

If A2B owner is reading this, here's my special message to you: Better you train your staffs how to provide service or just get out of business. Don't waste my time..

Okay, Dining experience is not good. How about take-away? Well, Take away is pretty decent as far as it doesn't comes to portion size. Portions of side-dishes are not enough at all. They have covers of all sizes and I hope they have specific instructions on using appropriate sized cover for dishes. All they do is, they will take appropriate cover and just fill it 50% to 70%. Then why the hell your management has told you to fill "Sambar" in this size cover? The people in parcel section are simply brainless..

Simply worst when we consider the sum we pay for.. I have visited 2-3 times after 3 or 4 months gap between each visit. They haven't changed for years. If you're hungry, avoid them at...

I wouldn't even recommend this restaurant to my enemy. This restaurant should get a negative 5 star review for their food and service🤦🏻‍♂️.

Very worst restaurant I have ever eaten from. I had ordered masala dosa and idly on Zomato and the food is one of the worst ever I have ever tasted and they missed to add the sambar for masala dosai and idly. I should have received at least one sambar for any of the dishes but I didn't get any sambhar packet. I am pretty sure that they didn't add any sambar packet to begin with.

Next the food, ugh it was easily the worst as the idly was half baked and masala dosai had no salt and the masala inside the dosa was very stale and the potato used in masala was rotten and some parts of it were like stone.My friend got food poisoning and constipation from ordering here.

I thought that only the delivery orders are like this but the restaurant reviews here itself suggest that this restaurant is a never try one.
