Edit: after my review , Mr Phani from GVS residency called me to apologize and accept personal responsibility. He also mentioned there was network issue and I agreed to that since we were in the place and getting through phones was really difficult. Weather was not very supportive to phone signals. Considering their other reviews, their reciprocation on my review, I agreed to edit my review and up their rating. Will write a detailed review when I visit them the next time and avail their facilities.
Updated rating from 1 star to 3 star.

Probably, either the most busiest of all the hotesl in Yercaud or they have too many customers so don't respect, value new customers.
Note: I did not stay at this hotel so this review doesn't cover the stay or amenities. Please read below.
After our trip to Yercaud was finalized, I had been following up with GVS residency multiple times to book a room. However, they were not clear on anything. When I first spoke on the phone, the person said yes rooms are available. I asked for tariffs and he immediately asked me to ping on WhatsApp so he could share some pictures and prices of the rooms. I was happy. But there was no response. I kept following up only to get, please wait and do you want pictures sir, messages.... Finally, I didn't even get what they promised. Fortunately I got a room at Dr Vishu's place and we had lot of fun but I was trusting GVS residency for my stay and in my opinion that would have been a great mistake. Please see attached screenshot of the chat transcript.
Pros: Didn't stay here so cannot comment
Cons: Very poor customer service. Leaving customers hanging without any information doesn't build any relationship or assure of better service after...
Read moreWe had been to this place in Feb 18. Apparently when the entire Yercaud was deserted. We booked the hotel on MMT for three nights and four days. Since we had driven to Yercaud from Chennai we needed a parking place. The hotel has a good parking garage which has ample space. The reception staff welcomed us and gave us a key to the room we have booked. Few hours after we entered the room there was a knock on the door. The Staff said that our room is ready and you can move now. I was surprised. I spoke to the manager at the reception and he said the room they gave us was temporary and the allotted room was being cleaned. I vividly remember him not mentioning anything about it. I went and checked the allotted room and it was a small one and did not have a good view. Whereas the allotted room was spacious and had a great view of the lake. So this obviously was their ploy to lure us into paying extra for the room. They succeeded. I paid extra for the better room. Had they been a little more honest in the first place they needn't had done all the drama.
The room, bathroom, TV, geaser and everything else was great. The complimentary breakfast (of course included in the room fare) was very good. We ensured that we hogged the food because the food options in Yercaud aren't great. All four days we tried everything on the menu and were pretty shameless.
The hotel is located in the central location of Yercaud and all the scenic points are close by. The town closes down a little too quickly in the evening so it's better you order your dinner in the hotel itself.
Overall, the hotel is good and definite value for money. If only the staff was a little more...
Read moreWe stayed in the Deluxe room of the hotel. Hotel GVS residency experience was indeed very pleasant and nice. The hotel is centrally located and near the bus stand and the famous Montfort convent. The rooms and furnishings are nice and clean. The bathroom is also clean and well maintained. The Bed with a super size blanket was something unique compared to even 5 star hotels wherein we have seen smaller blankets only . The supersize blanket provides ample room and accommodates large size persons as well as people who tend to rollover in Bed.The furniture and storage space was also nicely planned . The kettle in the room with tea bags etc. was helpful to make our own tea whenever required. The food was superb in terms of multi variety complimentary Buffet breakfast which included both Indian and continental items. We found all staff to be very friendly and helpful especially Mr.Jagan at the reception who was very efficient, sincere and helpful in all manner. The manger Subbaraj wanted to find out from us while checking out on what further improvements can be done in the hotel to make the stay even more comfortable. A small caution is in regard to Wifi which does not seem to be stable but this did not affect us as we were using our data package in our mobile. Overall considering the total experience we would rate ii as excellent and good value...
