Mango Hill Central Ooty — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

I was on a vacation with family and seeing the photos on google, I booked the room through agoda and I was charged 6K. Once I reached the venue, series of problems were awaiting for me, first was road, the hotel is in some “galli”, you need to be a F1 driver making all the circus to reach the hotel. And then comes the parking, only small passage is allocated and we’re 10 cars are parked in 2 rows one behind the other and the watchman says you need to take out the car if any one parked behind has to remove the car. Then comes the rooms, it so small and suffocating that, can’t even imagine to stay here, they have uploaded fake photos and cheating customers, this is not a hotel rather it is a boys PG. the TV connection has been disconnected and asking the reception, there is no response. Blankets, bed, toilet and room floor are so untidy that, you can easily make out that it’s being re used without cleaning. The photos in the website shows swimming pool, asking for it the staff said no pool in this branch, it’s in some other branch, the photos are uploaded by mistake. I asked the staff in reception to cancel my booking and to refund and I shall vacate, he said nothing can be done. Totally it’s a scam, before booking room in this hotel think twice. Had to struggle a lot, don’t let it happen with your loved ones. You travel from long distance to enjoy and spend some quality time here in Ooty, but the rooms in this hotel shall make your experience horrible. Even after reading all this if you feel like booking here, first visit the hotel, have a look at rooms and then take a chance. Don’t believe in the photos you see in this website, it’s all fake and while booking try this, i tried it in agoda, you check the price for next day or early dates it shows 6K or more and if you try to book for next week or later, it shows 1.5K to 2K and if you directly go to hotel they are ready to give at 2 or 2.5K. So this I have mentioned to make you people understand that no one shall give facilities as shown in the photos for 2K. Stay away from this hotel for your better...

From where I should start I don't know. TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NIGHTMARE. PLEASE DON'T GO WITH THE REVIEW AND RATINGS SHOWN IN GOOGLE.

We checked in late and were highly tired. We informed prior to them that we shall be reaching in an hour or two. But rooms were not ready. We were okay but post that the number of experience we had were horrible. Below points can give others an insight NOT to book this hotel at all.

LOCATION- The hotel location is pathetic, the lane, would call that as 'patli gali, with lots of pot holes with no tar on that lane ( can't call it a road) ' Your car which you bought with hard earned money, can be damaged so badly if you go with this option of hotel. Vacation mood got completely spoiled.

PARKING - No parking at all, we had to park our car in front of hotel gate.Other guy who stayed there from last few days with whole family, I heard late night argument going on by him with guard for the parking.

ROOMS - As soon as we entered in the room, oh god...... Room was stinking. Bedsheet had hair on it, could easily identify that they didn't change the bedding set just rearranged the previous one.

BATHROOM -Commode had hair with stains, also mud mark of slippers on the floor. We complained and asked cleaning staff to get the things done proper for us. It was done after that.

DINNER TIMING - it is served till 9:30 PM,options and quantity is very limited. Even if you are having your food and want to have something more, they will say kitchen is closed.

Electric cattle was not there, it was put on when we asked but it was broken. Towel and napkins were also not provided.

STAFF - Trying hard to work on guests request.

I Got vomit in the morning. Could not have anything there by seeing the unhygienic way of maintaining things. Will never ever book this hotel ever nor will allow my friends or family to choose this option. I came here for refreshment but going with sickness.

I stayed in this hotel in Jan 2024 and My overall experience was nice. Rooms were clean and hotel area lobby was also clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

There is a play area where you can enjoy the indoor games. almost it is at every floor. One thing which I found a bit drawback was the location. This hotel is located inside of residential area and almost 1km inside, so you have to walk to the slop or take an auto to get there. because that road is narrow. So, if you are with senior citizens who are having problems of long walks then you must take an auto to the hotel. So there should be drop facility to drop guests at the main road at least.

But rest of the experience was fine. There is restaurant at the basement, but it is dedicated to the hotel only so if you order some food, they will make at that time only. Even the charges of breakfast were also high because they will make it only if you order breakfast. Rooms are really nice, neat and clean and 24hr hot water which I really appreciate. As I insisted for hot milk the staff arranged it also. There is travel desk also where you can book a cab for sight scenes and they will give you complete guidance about visiting all the places nearby. And this was really great. as we didn't have to search for the cabs.

So, my overall experience was fine and because of the location it is quite too. I would recommend this...
