The rooms are very very spacious and large . The bedspreads and bedsheets are very clean. Even after putting an extra bed for a third person in the room, there is still plenty of space left to walk around in the room. Maximum people allowed per room are three. Standard occupancy is two people per room. For the third person extra charges are applicable. There is sufficient car parking space available.
Breakfast is complimentary and it comprises tasty south Indian tiffin items. Meals are provided for lunch. You can order the food of your choice for dinner. The food is very tasty and homely. Their kitchen is very very clean like our home kitchen. The person Saravana Kumar who serves food to the guests in the dining hall is very well mannered. He serves food very generously.
The bathroom is also very clean. 24/7 hot water facility is available. The items provided in the toiletry kit are of very good quality like the way they would be provided in hi fi resorts.
The hotel is situated around 4 kms away from the city center. The hotel people arrange an auto on request immediately to visit any place within tiruvannamalai. The auto fair is also very reasonable. It is better to go by auto to the temples and ashrams as it would be difficult to find a parking area near these places. The hotel staff would answer all your queries regarding the places to visit very patiently. Checkout time is at 1pm and cannot be extended.check in time is 2 pm but if the previous guest vacated the room early or if the room is available, then they would allow early check in too. You can call the hotel a day before and check.
If you are looking for a very neat and clean hotel providing good food then this is the best place in...
Read moreI and my friends visit Thiruvannamalai often and have stayed in most hotels on this stretch. Was a first time for us in this Hotel. Despite booking a premium Hillview room, we were given a room with no window!!! Room would be pitch dark without lights being switched on middle of the day. On asking, we were told apparently ours is the only room without a window! To what we owed the privilege of being given a room like this wasn't clear. You may say someone eventually will get that room if hotel rooms are full. But one, by the look of a few cars only in the hotel and deserted restaurant except a few during breakfast, that did not seem like the case, on a Friday(not a busy weekend night) night. Two, even if so, this room should just be priced lower than other Hillview rooms, otherwise it is outright cheating by the hotel management.
Not sure what is better in this hotel compared to other hotels in this stretch. Farther than other hotels from Sri Ramanashramam and temple, bad access from main road, property has no open space at all, and breakfast is the lowest variety I have seen in Hotels on this stretch.
I and many friends of mine would not stay in this hotel again, given better options around, and our perception based on management's dealings here that they hardly make any effort to provide you with the value you pay for, and deserve as an unsuspecting...
Read moreThaai Residency is a new hotel in the area. The spot is near the main road, probably some 200m away. The approach road needs paving or tarring. The location shown on Google map is correct though. So it's not difficult to spot the hotel. It is approximately 5 km away from the Arunachala temple, and 2 km away from the girivalam road. Autos are available on demand. There's enough parking space in the compound.
The rooms were neat and clean. They are spacious too. Ample amount of storage spaces are there. Well lit and with proper A/C and fan. They've provided android tv's in rooms, so you can stream on tv over internet, if you're not interested in the traditional cable tv/dish services. Their wifi does have good speed.
Room service is good. Food and tea were delivered in the room. Staff were polite and very cooperative. Food was good. They have a restaurant in the ground floor.
Front desk was very well mannered. Srinivasan did help us out with the details about the visit to the temple, Ramanasramam and also with the girivalam. He even printed out maps and marked the important points on it for us. Also, they did provide a yoga mat for morning meditation.
Overall a good stay, and I'm sure they will improve up on whatever is lacking now, as it is a new venture. All the best to the owners and team of this hotel. Will defenitely consider again when visiting...
