I recently stayed at Brijwasi Lands Inn in Mathura (from 22nd Sept to 23rd Sept, 2024), and I regret to say it was a frustrating experience. We booked a suite and an elite room for four people on the same floor through Booking.com. Upon check-in, however, we were informed that our original rooms were unavailable and were instead downgraded to two elite rooms, which was far from ideal.
The first set of rooms had serious issues: neither had a working fridge, and the water supply in the washrooms was inadequate. After an hour of back and forth, we were finally moved to a suite and an elite room on the same floor as we had originally booked which had miraculously become available. While the water supply was improved, the fridge was still not operational. Although the staff were kind enough to address the issue, the entire process took us until midnight to resolve.
The next morning, I experienced a shocking incident. While I was in the shower, I heard someone opening my room door. When I called the reception, they initially downplayed it. About half an hour later, a receptionist named Anshu informed me that a member of the housekeeping staff had tried to enter my room, which raised serious security concerns. I had locked the door, and when I insisted on a demonstration, it turned out that the master key could indeed open a double-locked door—something I was assured was impossible. Anshu promised to investigate further.
While waiting in the lobby to view the CCTV footage, I noticed hotel staff casually carrying master keys, which added to my unease. Eventually, I learned that it was Anshu himself who had attempted to enter my room. While I wasn’t angry, I was unsettled and disappointed that I had lost several hours of my trip dealing with this chaos.
When I asked for a complete refund due to the numerous issues, I was met with resistance. They acknowledged the mishap but refused to provide a full refund, only promising a partial one that I am still waiting for.
In summary, my experience at Brijwasi Lands Inn was far from what I expected, especially while traveling with family to a holy place. Time is precious, and we didn’t come here to deal with hotel management issues. I strongly recommend considering other accommodations if you want to avoid the...
