Initially I was happy I got a good deal by speaking to their manager Mr. Vijay who gave me a deal cheaper than Agoda by Rs 500. I saw a family suite online for 6 people occupancy and hence when I called Mr. Vijay I told we are 4 people and a child. Our plans changed and one of our relatives decided to join us hence we were 5 people and 1 child then. The room occupancy was 6 people and yet on reaching the hotel we were asked to pay Rs 750 extra for the 5th person who accompanied us. On telling the manager that occupancy is 6 people for the room why should we pay even though they weren't even providing us an extra bedding and our guest was supposed to sleep on the sofa bed in living room. He told even online prices would increase on entering no of pax, which I immediately showed him and prices didn't change whether you book the room for 1 person or 6. He kept on arguing and asking me to check WhatsApp that he gave me the deal for 4 people only even though the room capacity is 6. Later, he said he spoke to his "Sir" and they were okay to not charge for extra person. He was extremely rude and on telling him I would leave a review he started fighting and later said guest is always right sarcastically. For food they charge 10 percent extra if served in the room and in the restaurant, food was decent tasting but koftas were so hard we showed the chef that on banging the kofta with spoon repeatedly it didn't break and was making sound as if we were hitting a rock, the restaurant manager came and took it back and brought one single kofta later when we finished food for us to eat saying he replaced the dish and we told him we are done with dinner he billed us still and argued that he offered to replace and we refused. The total experience sucked and even the room ac was not working and they refused to change room saying there is no room available. But they charged us full. I would say avoid this hotel at all costs as they do not know hospitality and are not worth the drama and...
Read moreI recently stayed at Govindam Resort in Vrindavan and was extremely disappointed with the experience. Despite being advertised as pet-friendly, the staff at the hotel asked me to carry my pet with me if it started shouting, which completely defeated the purpose of choosing a pet-friendly accommodation. To top it off, they charged extra for pets on a per day basis.
Although the rooms were spacious enough to accommodate 4-5 people, I was surprised to find out that they charged per head instead of per room. The limited menu at the hotel's restaurant was also a major drawback. When I requested a tandoori dish, the staff simply refused to serve it, which was disappointing, considering the fact that they were serving butter naan at the same time.
What's worse is that one of the restaurant staff was a weirdo who kept staring at me while I was eating. It was extremely uncomfortable and made me want to leave as soon as possible. I highly doubt that the owner of the resort even knows about this behavior of their staff.
Even the wifi doesn't work. It will connect to the router but no internet.
Overall, I would not recommend Govindam Resort in Vrindavan to anyone. The pet policy is a joke, the pricing is not transparent, the menu is limited, and the staff's behavior is unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and look for better options...
Read moreThis is a newly constructed hotel stay in Rukmani Vihar next to Pushpanjali Baikunth ,s back gate. The rooms are air conditioned ,are reasonably decent though could have been a bit bigger, with TV,attached drawing room with a washroom and balcony.,which has a garden view .,on both sides .Place is peaceful, well guarded, staff is well mannered ,polite, helpful and decent. Lifts are presently not there ,though in process, menu pure vegetarian with limited options, but preparation is decent and homely.Need to work a bit more on cleaniness, expediting the lift procurement, installing small room refrigerators and also included some more options in the menu .Room rentals are reasonable around about 2000 or 2200 online prices, is about 3kms from Prem Mandir ,enough secure car parking in the premises. Overall a reasonably decent place for...
