Me and my wife went here with our Dog, so here is our experience.
Our stay was good as far as the location and room/camp is concerned but their restaurant/park cafe was a serious mess.
I would say that the place is placed uniquely and we definitely had a good time in nature and surroundings but the food was a bummer. The chef and other guys don’t listen properly about guest’s preferences + don’t even know how to cook basic recipes. One doesn’t expects this from a café where charges are at par with an upscale restaurant of a city.
Here are the incidents which I should share.
We told the restaurant guy as we entered the property that we have IBS issues so we like our food being prepared fresh and simple. We ordered a Moong ki Daal (without tomato) and Rice Home Style as our stomachs were not well. We ordered this especially 2 hours prior to our eating time. When we came to the table for dinner we saw that the chef cooked Maa ki daal and after asking he said it’s Moong ki daal (He didnt know the difference between both). We had to adjust with Pre-made Toor ki daal which we don’t prefer but had to eat cuz there was no option at that time. On top of that there was all tomato tadka in the maa ki daal. (Adjusted)
We ordered Railway Cutlet for breakfast in the night (as the resto guy very confidently asked to tell them in advance as it takes some time to prepare and is their specialty) which the menu says has Beet Root and Corns in it. The morning came and it was served. NO BEETROOT, NO CORNS, NO EXPLANATION.
We asked them as we reached in afternoon that we would like to have brown bread for morning and they said yes, but they couldn't arrange it till morning breakfast. (We got it the 3rd day).
We ordered Poha (as per menu it has pomegranate garnish, which was obviously not there) and it was topped with raw peanuts (who puts raw peanuts in a poha?) I asked that please roast the peanuts a bit for next day. Again the next day same thing and now even uncooked poha which we left in our plates.
We ordered Thai green chicken curry with boiled rice. They served Thai curry containing fried pieces of chicken (haven’t seen a Thai curry like that really, they made it with some readymade paste) with partially cooked garlic rice. (Who serves Thai curry with a garlic tempering?
Small things (Pasta served in a small bowl, No garlic bread served with pasta looking at the price, no desserts in menu)
Despite the prices being at par with an upscale restaurant what we got was food cooked by some naïve. In the name of a premium cafe we felt we were eating in a roadside dhaba.
“Food is not just the ambience, it should be good enough to satisfy the soul”
Secondly (Pet Friendly Place)
The place is surrounded by lot of stray dogs and they were barking all the time which is frightening for a pet. First day, Coco (Our Golden Retriever) was shivering out of fear. Their staff is already fostering one stray dog named Kajal who was constantly following us everywhere in the premise. It was very irritating and challenging to make her go away. Once in the night she sat outside of our door. She is not vaccinated and we can’t chain our pet every time. This defeats the whole purpose of a Pet friendly...
