Jim Corbett Resort — Hotel in Uttarakhand

We booked for 5 nights, but the stay at the hotel was very inconvenient and we had to check out after the first night.||1) There was no power at the hotel and the staff refused to turn on the generator even when it became dark saying that the generator consumes too much diesel. They only agreed to turn it on after a lot of arguments. ||2) Before travelling I had ensured by calling the owner and the Delhi office of the hotel that they would be able to arrange an "extra cot", in these exact words. However, they put a mattress on the floor saying that this was all they could provide. Once again the hotel owner argued with me on the phone on the definition of "cot". The area was filled with insects and I was definitely not going to sleep on the floor.||3) There was no rate list available in the restaurant and they refused to provide me one. Upon insisting the next morning, they just wrote random prices on a piece of paper and gave it to me to sign.||4) The generator was again switched off early in the morning and there was no light in the room. The previous night a large spider had entered the room so we could not even keep the door open. The bathroom was completely dark as well. ||5) The phone in the rooms did not work either due to the power outage. ||6) The next morning at breakfast, just as the meal we ordered got prepared, the previous owner of the hotel arrived in the breakfast room and he was given all of our order. They did not even bother to bring us any food after that and we had to order again. ||7) When we had enough, we decided to check out and move to another hotel nearby, the staff refused to give us a receipt for the meal amount charged and refused to fill out any check-out documents either. We had a nice stay here. The property is good though the maintenance needs a lot of improvement. Overall, my little daughter had a very nice stay and enjoyed the place very much. The staff was polite...
