Continental Lodge — Hotel in West Bengal

I had stayed here a week the last month in room 209(single room).Regarding the food,it was ok but very oily.The room too was very dirty.Inspite of continuous follow up for cleaning of room ,no one turned up.Although I decided to give it a second chance.I booked it again(from 18th Feb to 22nd Feb 2019) on 17th Feb(Sunday) via telephone number provided on the bill of my previous stay and asked him to provide me the same room .He confirmed my booking .After reaching the hotel I told the receptionist about my booking.He even had my name written in a page.After filling the form,when I enquired about the room,he told he had no single room available,so he had provided me a double room(approx Rs 400/- more than the single room).When I told him that as I was promised a single room,I can't stay here.But to my surprise the ill mannered receptionist asked me to pay Rs 500/- and behaved very rudely.Do I need to pay for the promise which he didn't keep.Infact he needed to pay me coz I was harassed and the word which he had given was not kept.He is just sitting there to loot the customers. Won't ever stay in this hotel & will recommend everyone not...

I stayed here fir one night on 7th December. First of all I was looking fir a hotel with 24 hours check out facility. This is the only hotel which offers 24 hours check out. I managed to get a single small AC room for Rs. 1190 plus tax. The rooms were all booked as Bengal CM was visiting. I found the room clean with all facilities like power sockets , LCD tv , tea coffee maker , clean and comfortable bed, split AC, and a nice clean and decent washroom. I am impressed to see the quality of food and the pricing is just about right . Many of the hotels I see the food price being high - guests go out and eat . Well, the complimentary breakfast was adequate. I would love it if they add a fresh fruit juice. I guess most of the sales and marketing people loves this place.
