I recently had the chance to experience a stay at the Bagdogra Marina Motel, located near Bagdogra Airport. Here's my detailed review:

Rooms (4/5): The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. I stayed in a standard room, which was spacious and included all the essential amenities. The bed was comfortable, and the room was well-ventilated.

MARINA'S MOTEL REVIEW

Stayed for 1 night on 19th May 2022. Very Good Experience Good, clean quiet property. Slightly inside, but with an added benefits of free from noise and air pollution of vehicular traffic. Clean neat spacious, well maintained rooms. Spacious bathroom with adequate supplies of toiletry and white towels and napkins. Good courteous, ready to assist staff Beautiful Restaurant though with little slow service and huge variety for Non Veg but for us Vegetarian less options but good food.

Close to Airport - morning it took us about 7 to 8 minutes to reach Airport. Hotel had arranged drop, a new AC Desire Car on charable basis @ Rs. 300. Driver reported 10 minutes before time. We had booked room thr Agoda @ Rs. 2650 inclusive of Breakfast and all Taxes. Breakfast spread was Good but items not great! We were given options to choose the room and one we selected had full glass windows on one entire side facing two huge mango trees with lovely mangoes allover the tree. We loved the ambience so much that had we not got pre-booked return Air tickets for Mumbai, we would have extended our stay just to relax. Also, 10,days back when we had visited Siliguri, we had stayed at Hotel Uddan, a very noisy hotel with no view from the rooms. In fact we could not keep our room curtains open and felt very suffocating. And room tariff was much much higher than Marina's Motel. If in future I happen to come to Siliguri, I would love to Stay at Marina's, despite distance from city...

This happened to be a surprisingly excellent hotel near Bagdogra airport!

When we made the booking, we had low expectation from this hotel due to the cheap room price that we paid for a Superior Double room. However, it was surprises after surprises after entering the hotel premises. We came to know that this hotel is actually owned & operated by one of the legendary restaurants of Darjeeling [hint: It starts with the letter 'G' ;) ] The check-in process was smooth. We were allotted room 407 and was escorted there. The room was shockingly big! Even with 2 adults and 2 kids, it did not feel small. The bed was American King size, where 4 of us could fit very easily. There were two chairs and a table. Still there were plenty of open floor to walk around the room. I don't know why they call it a 'Superior Double' room. It should have been termed as a 'Junior Suite' at minimum!

We visited the restaurant of the hotel for dinner, which was of excellent quality and taste. The breakfast was included in the dirty-cheap room price! That's crazy! They had plenty of options in the breakfast as well.

There were a few shortcomings in the hotels, which I am not even mentioning here because of the great value of money that we got from this hotel. If those could have been improved, then it would be a 5-star grade hotel (which it is not).
