Last weekend my wife had a lucrative job of organizing a sweet seventeen birthday party in the upper area of Cisarua (also known as Tugu area). The large villa where the event took place is located just a stone throw away from this hotel. So, it was no brainer to choose this hotel for our accommodation. ||||The hotel itself is a 6-story building, with an abandoned restaurant in the front, and an amazing bistro on the top floor, overlooking the main road and the scenery of the Puncak area. ||||Being situated in the Tugu area, the chill temperature is definitely a plus point for this property. ||||All staffs were very professional and they did their job very well. None of my requests were turned down, and they handled them perfectly. ||||As for the rest, everything is average at best. The room size is larger than some other 4-star hotel in Jakarta but less luxurious. In-room facilities are what you expect from this class and price, so are the out-room facilities. The swimming pool is small, though. The wifi signal is good inside the room, as they installed a router every 10 feet or so. But don't expect a high-speed internet, as the only option for a broadband provider in Puncak really doesn't deliver. The TV channel is limited to only a few local channels, one kid channel, and a couple of international channels. No HBO or the kind. ||||During the pandemic, breakfast is served ala carte instead of the usual buffet style. Guests are free to have it delivered to the room or enjoyed it at their bistro. Three options were on offer: American breakfast, Oriental breakfast, and Indonesian breakfast. I opted for the Indonesian one. It consists of fried rice with fried chicken and crackers, fresh-cut fruit, two small pieces of bread with different filling, and a glass of fresh juice. Enough for me to get through the day. My daughter chose the American style, and it was a plate of omelette with red beans, three small sausages, tomato, and salad. The fruits, fresh juice, and two small pieces of bread are the same as the Indonesian style. ||||All in all, I had a wonderful stay...
Read moreIf you’re wondering why the discrepancy in the reviews, that’s because some rooms have been renovated but some have not. Our travelling party saw both. ||||The common: ||- towels & bedsheets stained but at least felt dry to the touch ||- reception service slow but entrance staff prompt in offering help ||- rooms spacious with plenty of natural light ||- aircon in room adjustable and responsive ||- water pressure excellent and water heating strong and consistent ||- water kettle, hair dryer and safe available but no iron/board. Few hangers. Two small bottles of water provided daily ||- toilet paper and tissue paper not well stocked in the room ||- breakfast variety acceptable though not super tasty. Starts on time (7am) but some dishes (e.g. pancakes, waffles) only available later ||- the grounds were very steep and it was tough for vehicles to climb ||- surroundings a bit boring with not much to see ||||The different / how the old rooms were: ||- room had no proper lightning. Only weak lamps at the bed head and at the door so the room was in perpetual gloom once the sun sets. New ones were bright enough ||- bathroom was dim with slightly blue tinted lighting. We couldn’t even read the words on the amenity pack. New rooms seemed fine ||- water in shower cubicle does not discharge quickly enough so our feet would be soaking after a while. Not sure about new rooms ||- old cupboards and bed head had residue, shower screen was mouldy and tile grouts were black. New rooms are fine for now ||||Personal opinion: ||Decent if you just need a place to shower and sleep at night, but tamper expectations and don’t spend too much time in the depressing, gloomy room if you end...
Read moreA hotel with beautiful views and cool air.||The check-in process was fast, the officers at the front office were friendly and alert, there were 3 people ready to serve so there was no need to wait too long. With the kindness of the staff, we are allowed for early check-in and having a room with a good view.||The rooms are spacious and clean. For twin bed rooms, the couch cannot be moved but the mattress can be joined together. Hot water works well. No need to turn on the air conditioner, the mountain air has made the room cool. Don't forget to bring warm clothes, because the night air is quite cold.||I was in a Deluxe balcony room with a mountain view facing north, at night I could see the lights in the peak area and saw the Salak mountain on the west in the morning and see the mountains on the east. Room with balcony facing the swimming pool couldn't see the Salak Mountain in the morning.||Children will be very happy to stay at this hotel because there is a large indoor playground facility and outdoor playground near the restaurant. The pool is very cold but having a stunning viewed over the valley,.||The breakfast location is on 6th floor, which is a pretty famous bistro, a varied menu of choices and good taste. The view in the restaurant was amazing too. In the corner of the restaurant, there is a tree trunk inside the restaurant building.||Near the restaurant there is a mate tree "Pohon Jodoh" which have a myth, pair of lovers if they play in this area will later continue to...
