Istana Permata Juanda — Hotel in Gedangan

Hi there. Sorry, but I have to be fair in giving my evaluation. I stayed there in room R1 of apt 221 for one night. I paid for other rooms, too.

My evaluation was based on 2 main points: You said you have a restaurant - but you only have tables and chairs to sit down. No food, no coffee or tea to serve or even order. When we were hungry, we had to get out of the areas to find a place to dine. Only one small fridge is available in the so-called restaurant, filled with only two kinds of cold drinks. The bath room drain in room R1 of apt 221 was clogged so the waste water would stay on the bath room floor for an hour or so before it went out. Please check the waste water drainage flow in that bath room.

Besides, I also found that the AC in the bed room did not really make it cool enough, but to me that was not included in the main points. Also I paid full 200 K rups a night per room (higher than the listed price on the web), but that was still OK to me.

This hotel is one big nightmare. Rundown bungalows/houses that feature as hotel rooms now. Rooms are quite small and dirty, cockroaches in the bathrooms, tons of mosquitos in the bedroom. Mosquitos get in through Airco, which can be turned of, but doesn't close properly; so they get in no matter if you use the Airco or not. Sheets and bathroom were very dirty, room smelled liked as if it hasn't been used for at least a year.||Swimming Pool hasn't been cleaned in years, water is yellow/greenish and looks everything but inviting. Location is in the outskirts of Surabaya (not too far from the airport, but clearly not as close as some booking sites make you believe), so nothing to do in the neighbourhood. Staff was quite friendly (they assisted me with a spray to kill the cockroach and surprisingly seemed quite shocked that it was there in the first place); they would like to keep your passport when you check in, but are satisfied with a copy if you refuse. ||I spent a horrible night there and would strongly advise not to...
