Hotel Alma — Hotel in Jakarta

Did not planned to stay here. We checked out from our previous hotel as it was far from Jakarta. This place was recommended by our taxi driver as being cheap, clean and close to the famous local market called Tanah Abang.||Room was small, dusty with a window which was pretty much useless as it was blocked by the air-conditioning unit. Bathroom was leaky all over. Worst of all me, my wife and one of kids woke up with bites from bed bugs. ||The breakfast was really dismal. It was included in the rate and it was sort of first come first served. They did not replenish the dishes.||It was a 10 minutes walk to Tanah Abang market but that 10 minutes walk was very nerve-wrecking walking along the busy and crowded street with not so comforting characters by the roadside. ||I will definitely not...

You get more than you pay. Booked @agoda for only $11 a night with a breakfast included for 2 persons - chicken with fried and bowled rice, some Indonesian addons by side, really good coffee and watermelon with sweets so you will not be hungry. As for the rooms is a casino, somewhere ac or toilet not working properly, some dust from outside (nothing to do - this is Jakarta with coal power stations) but the staff is ready to make extra service or just ask to change the room. Good equipped rooms with friege, ac, kettle (even coffee, sugar and creamer provided) and hot water shower. No bath cream or shampoo, but have soap and what's very unusual for Indonesia - you got toilet paper (!). Internet soso, speed depends on daytime or the mood of Brad...

I had so bad experience staying in this hotel. I was supposed to relax during my sleep but sad to say the room is not noise-proof so I was awaken from my sleep many times by the shouts of the kids across my room... To mention, just staying at your toilet, you can really hear people talking outside, people's footsteps in the aisle and even the sound of closing door. Worst experience I had for customer service is I asked courteously the boy receptionist if they could provide toothbrush, he responded with an unpleasant smirk as if like you are laughable and then get back to his busy and so focus to playing his mobile game. The telephone was not working. My room had good airconditioning space. The breakfast was not so good, the chicken meat...
