Karlita Hotel — Hotel in Java

We came for a wedding and stayed in the hotel's newer building and was utterly disappointed.||The room's size was alright and we had a large balcony which proved to be useful as we could lay our wet clothes on the aircon box (haphazardly as there wasn't anything to hang it on) that we got from visiting the hot spring in Guci - although the air at the balcony smelled really fishy due to the proximity to the fishing port.||What we didn't like was the horrible curtains that was really thin, it wasn't enough to cover the entire window & fail to block out sunlight. Which in turn heat up the room & it doesn't help that the aircon wasn't very cold despite being set to the coldest temperature possible.||The floor was really sticky and there were lots of ants! I had a pack of popcorn & a box of donuts meant as souvenirs but by morning, ants have infested them and there was a long trail of ants from different walls!||The bathroom had a bathtub that is really useless,I doubt you would take baths in as it isn't very clean; and we had to shower in it (I would rather have a shower stall) - worst part is the fact that the tub was really slippery and my friend actually slipped and fell. Having a tub with shower curtain just meant that it wasn't very splash-proof and the toilet ended up being rather wet. The shower head was also quite clogged with only a few water only coming out of a few "holes". The towels provided had various stains on it.||Wi-fi was highly unreliable.||We opted for no breakfast so I have no comment on that.||Overall, I believe Karlita has had its heyday but right now, with all the competition all around (even other hotels have cheaper rates with better quality) - I feel that they should pay more attention to details and actually improve and upkeep the hotel. Karlita Hotel is the hotel I always book whenever I travel to Tegal with my family. After my third visit to this hotel, I decided to write this review.

The room is clean and the standard amenities are provided such as teabags, coffee, cups, sugar and spoons. I booked room with single bed as I stayed there with my wife and nine-year-old daughter. The bed, with three pillows, is clean and large enough for us three. Air conditioner worked properly and we were pleased with the temperature it provided. The wallpaper has some worn-out sections but nothing serious or annoying though.

TV has local channels and cables too. However the signal is not that good although the shows are still watchable.

Bathroom comes with a bathtub and shower with hot water. Adjusting the comfortable temperature is super easy making bathing experience there a pleasant one. There are only two sheets of towel and they wouldn't provide more than that however replacements are always ready whenever we request them.

Breakfast buffet is available and the food tastes decent enough. I'll give it score 4 out of 5. There are selections of drink ranging from hot water, coffee, juice, hot chocolate, milk and cappuccino. Guests can choose to dine indoor or outdoor next to a swimming pool. The tables are located far enough from the possible water splash when someone chooses to dive instead of having breakfast.

I don't recommend the place for staying at tegal. Price : I've booked from the online apps and got the rate IDR 578,512. The claimed that they're three star hotel. But I think it's too expensive for the price with the service and facility like they have. Building : They have 2 buildings that connected each other from the park area. The main building is the old one and I stayed at the new building. But thr new one is not good because it's old furniture and it's not like the new one. Parking area: They have a large parking area and enough for bus and car. Room : The room is standard and like the old one. The lighting is not light and a little dark i think. But the bed is comfortable enough. Bathroom : They have a shower which the same with bathtub. The shower was rusty and already get some corrosion where they claimed it's a new building. Receptionist : the new and old one don' connect each other. If you dial 0 it will connect to the old one and wait for connecting to the receptionist at the new building. Breakfast : The food is not delicious. I feel the food was cold and not completed. They don't refill when it's exhausted. I take a breakfast at 10 am but some food already run out.
