Luminor Hotel Banyuwangi — Hotel in Java

Booked deluxe room, checked in at 9:15 PM, the air-conditioning was very hot tried to wait for 1 hour yet still no change.

Called the front office, and they said they would ask engineering to check. After about 20 minutes later, engineering came to check the air-conditioning n clean the already clean filter n say please wait for a moment before the air-conditioning get colder hence i wait again for another 30 minutes with sweat all over my shirt i tries to call front office again but this time asking the room to be replaced because obviously the air-conditioning is broken!

The front office says no more deluxe room. The only room available was the executive room, yet they tried to send the same engineering to add more freon to the broken air-conditioning. After waiting AGAIN for another 40 minutes, i started to lose my patience & called again the front office asking to switch the room or refund my money, & I will move to another hotel.

Finally, they gave me the small twin executive room as my replacement with working air-conditioning.

There are a lot more decent hotels around Banyuwangi with the same or cheaper price than this hotel. My suggestion is to find another

This is just not worth it, i Finally can rest after 1 AM in...

This hotel was easy to access. However there were some problems that needed to be adressed.

The room i was staying on has a weird odor, the beds were a bit stained. a lot of the furniture tops were still dusty. It showed signs of inadequate cleaning. The bathroom was a bit dirty, there were rusts all over the place. The room was also not soundproofed. I heard songs that were played on the hallway and other guests arriving and leaving, which greatly disturbed my rest.

I also had breakfast at the restaurant on the 3rd floor, and it was quite disappointing, the food was bland and tasted like it was leftovers. The only decent food was the egg station. Ants were also found around the tabletops near the food. and the utensils (spoons, forks, glasses, plates) were not cleaned properly, as i had to be selective due to a lot of them being unsanitary. Not only that, when i cameback after i left my seat to take another food, i found my plates and glasses were already taken away which was quite unpleasing. While i do respect the work ethic, i prefer if i was to be inquired, whether i would like my plates to be taken...

Stayed here for 3 nights, and it is a decent - quite lovely hotel.

We arrived in the morning, way too early for check in but was able to drop our luggage. Returned at check in time and was able to check in right away. There were some renovations going on at the floor of the room we originally booked in, but was offered a bigger room instead due to this. Room and bathroom was spacious.

Breakfast had a nice variety, tastes pretty good. The sun during breakfast is pretty strong tho, be advised. They also have a nice rooftop restaurant area in the afternoon.

The staff was very nice and accommodating to our needs, and communicative. I really appreciate their help and hospitality during our stay.

Cons would probably be that there are a little bit of stairs in order to reach the lift. Not much of a problem. We tried walking to the beach from the hotel, I wouldn’t say it is very far, but not close either.
