Casabanyu Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in East Java

One of the best restaurant in Banyuwangi, in terms of view as well as balanced diverse menu. They offer ample Indonesian and Western items. We had salmon bowl which was fresh and delicious. The fish and chips were average, the fish had a smell was not fresh. We also had dimsum, sandwich, almond croissant all tasted good, the croissant stood out. The range of tea is also unique, we tried ginger lemongrass and star anise cinnamon, both were different but relaxing. Their breakfast as part of hotel stay is also amazing with mix of buffet and on order items. The buffet has fruits, cereal, bakery and egg items. On order you can have pancakes, french toast, english breakfast etc. The choices were less but quality was top notch.

The service is great, the staff is friendly and cooperative. They went out of their way to find our hotel room number even before we checked in and manage our bills. In addition, they happily packed us croissants when they heard we were leaving by early train.

Finally, the atmosphere! It is surreal. Can spend hours here looking at the endless sea, coconut trees, the changing sky colors.

I have to say we had a pleasant experience here. It's quiet, you can hear the crashing waves, warm ambience, and fast serving. It's perfect if you want to date someone.

We ordered several dishes & bevs:

Grilled Chicken Salad (8.5/10.0) At the first glance, nothing special with the salad. Tomato, lettuce, sliced carrot, lemon, and grilled chicken. But when you mixed together with the lemon juice + grilled chicken, you can taste the perfect combination of the vegetable freshness, savory, a bit acidic from the lemon. Your taste bud will thank you

Sambel Terong Udang (9.0/10.0) Hands down to this dish! It may seems like an ordinary terong balado. However, the chili relish combined with a hint of dried shrimp (cmiiw), with the perfect level of spiciness, plus the big and juicy shrimp, makes everything perfect!

the place's ambience is really nice. and they have movie night: so thats fun. first impression was weird, the security at the gate ask for antigen rapid test result (didnt even get asked that in the harbour), on saturday night they have a wedding, so, customer of the resto has a full view of that. not that its not fun, but yeah, some people prefer privacy. the pannacota is pretty basic. the calculation for the bill also weird: the bill then 10 % service charge, then after that 10% ppn (so, they tax the service charge) anyway, im glad enough that they have a nice resto in...
