In short, THEY IGNORE YOUR PRIVACY AND CAN SPY ON YOU WHILE YOU'RE NAKED, IT'S A VERY DIRTY FULL OF COCKROACHES AND OTHER INSECTS PLACE! RESTAURANT WILL GET YOU SICK!!! Our holidays at this villa were COMPLETELY RUINED due to several issues that made our stay extremely frustrating. The most concerning issue was the complete invasion of our privacy by the workers who were able to spy on us through the kitchen window (from the outside OUR private area they were entering without prior agreement), they saw my wife NAKED in the living room after shower twice!! The same guy! They were entering OUR PRIVATE AREA without prior agreement despite multiple complaints! Host (Anis) completely ignored our complaints, which is unacceptable, didn't even write "sorry", simply ignored.

In addition to this, the villa was infested with cockroaches and other insects, which not only made our stay uncomfortable but also posed a health risk. The doors are not tight at all, there are huge gaps (can even be seen on the pictures) through which insects come in. The lighting was also a major issue, with several lights being too dim to provide proper lighting, the villa was EXTREMENT DARK with one light not working at all. They couldn't replace it for a month, were keep saying that they're waiting for a replacement (FOR A MONTH!!)

To make matters worse, the one time we ordered food at the restaurant on the property, all of us got FOOD POISOINING (occurred within 20 mins after we ate, didn't eat anything else). While the symptoms didn't last long, it was a terrible experience that further added to our frustration.

The towels and bed stuff were VERY DIRTY (also mentioned in some other reviews here), the towels had lots of marks of different colors and the duvet stank (they didn't give duvet cover and I doubt they wash duvets). When we moved in, the toilet (it was very unpleasant to use it!!!) and kitchen were dirty and were cleaned only 3 days after moving in! The way they clean the villa is another weird thing - they first change the bed stuff, then put the CLEAN bed stuff on the DIRTY floor while making the bed, then clean the floor.... we saw it only at the end of our stay and asked the guy not to do it next time. No idea if he learned it.

Overall, I would not recommend this villa to anyone. The issues with privacy, cleanliness, lighting, and the restaurant make it an unsuitable place to stay. The host's complete lack of action in addressing these issues only compounds the problem, and it's essential that they take responsibility for the safety and comfort of their guests. Our ruined holidays were a testament to the poor quality of this villa, and I would advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere.

I reported to airbnb the privacy issues we had only after the 5th privacy breach, they issued a full refund (we were very surprised). So know your rights, guys, and AVOID THIS PLACE!

As a side note, you can order fresh chicken from them, but they will charge you 100k/kg while the good people at Taman Bebek Hita restaurant literally 50 meters away will charge you 50k/kg and you will be sure that the chicken is fresh (as you can pick a live chicken by yourself and they will...

What can I say about this place? This place really became my home and I shortly considered all staff my family. I was just one girl in her 30s on my own and they literally took care of me. Owner was willingly driving me around Amed area. He even taught me snorkeling on Lipah beach and organized me a private cooking class with the staff although his wife was not around. They provided me fresh aloe vera on mosquito bites and burned skin and overall their garden with fresh fruits, herbs, spices and vegetables was just mind blowing. Owner gave me a private tour and I was just nicely surprised how much he knew about nature. They also managed special internet connection in the room when the regular one was not working. Overall very customer focused. It is also visible they invested in building this hotel step by step. You can see it in every tile, furniture…owner told me himself he cares about such details. I stayed in a small bungalow which is just perfect for 1-2 people. Very cheap! It is simple, with terrace, no TV, so you have space to relax and it has great open bathroom. This is sth you must experience while in Amed. You are having a shower and watch the sky. Priceless. Plus bathrooms are very nice with nice tiles. Same are used in the garden. There are even bigger villas for families, they just opened one new and one more is about to open soon (will have kitchen), these have also TV. They have amazing restaurant. It is a bit more expensive though very delicious food. You won’t eat such fresh food with herbs from own garden anywhere else in Amed. Really! Breakfasts are just fantastic – try banana pancake and papaya juice. I saw in reviews people complained about location, as there is no sand beach right across the road, but well you can easily get to Lipah beach (owner will take you there). I even walked (20 min) or you can rent a bike from them, which honestly is good to have in Amed anyway, because villages are a bit far next to each other, there is no promenade and overall, Amed is not so crowded destination, so bike comes handy. And believe me you will appreciate quiet garden and privacy. Maybe roosters will wake you up very early in the morning but come on – you are there in the middle of nature. Enjoy it! If you want to be closer to the beach, the same owner has OnlYou villa. One of buildings is for really big groups (approx. 16 people). Owner has also diving school ‘Amed White Sand Divers’ in Lipah, his brother is taking care of it and they have German instructor. They were just teaching me snorkeling and all were very helpful. Next time I will try diving. They just opened so all is new and it is not so crowded like at other centers, so you will receive individual care.

Harmony is simply...

We really weren’t expecting what we came across with this place. On our arrival we were walked through the amazing garden to our accomodation which exceeded our expectations. The villa was a large bedroom with open air style bathroom and a large living/kitchen/lounge area on a single level. To our surprise we also had a roof top dining area with a Balinese style roof shade over the large dining table. This roof top gave amazing views to the steep and beautiful mountains and a great view of the large pool that was shared by only one other room. The accommodation however was only the beginning. When we ate at the restaurant, which is at the front of the property, my taste buds were blown away. The chef and owner Anis make traditional Balinese with food with plants and trees that are growing around the property. She also does a cooking school which we attended and again this did not fail to impress. The food really is some of the best food I have ever tasted with Sambals ground by hand( no food processor here) and two of the nights a whole suckling pig was cooked over coconut husk charcoal. Simply superb! |Also my wife is gluten free. This turned out not to be the problem it normally is because wheat has never really entered the diet of people up here. Everything was wheat free. Outstanding. |And to top it all off the staff were super friendly , helpful and really cared for...

Pros: -comfortable mattress -working AC -free pick up from nearby -flexible when I made a mistake in booking dates -Nyoman (husband/owner) apologised for cons and comp'd financially Cons: -noisy constructions on the grounds -dark room, almost no natural light, fluorescent lighting inside -No working wifi in the bungalow or away from cafeteria as advertised -Fake-friendly owners, blatant lies -Not a good vibe -80,000 Indonesian rupiah (the price of a phenomenal gourmet entree in other restos nearby) for stir fried instant noodles (the tomato soup was a separate charge on the menu), almost no vegetarian options on the over-priced menu I appreciate that things go can wrong sometimes. That said, I can let a lot of things go but I can't stand being lied to. When this happened in a very obvious way and I called them out on it, the owner/wife tried to deny it at first, which was annoying and insulting. Her husband apologised, compensated my stay, and compensated my over-priced, sub-par meal, agreeing that there are better ways to handle things. I appreciated and accepted the compensation they offered me. It doesn't change the lack of integrity/authenticity of the experience. If you value the principle, honesty, integrity and can't stand fake friendliness, don't go here. Do not recommend.

I was in Amed for a while and stayed in 6 different hotels at similar price points and one which was much more expensive. This hotel was by far my favorite, the room, wifi, grounds, restaurant (including breakfast), and team were all truly exceptional. I seriously considered staying for an extra week or more. The hotel is on the quieter side of Amed and as with anywhere on Bali, walkability isn't great but. However, I found it less stressful to walk from this hotel to the Blue Earth Village for twice daily yoga than from the other side of town. I also highly recommend hiking up into the hills starting from the adjacent stream. For the hotel, my only recommended improvements would be 1) add an aftermarket bum gun or bidet to the bathrooms, 2) a more substantial salad (the three on offer are great but sized as sides), and 3) train staff to ask for guest name instead of room number (management is clearly deeply interested in hospitality so perhaps they would enjoy reading The New Gold Standard by Joseph A. Michelli for an argument why names are important).
