Meditasi & the Smiling Buddha restaurant is a special place near Amed. Me and my wife experienced it first time four years ago. It is a spiritual and quiet safe heaven where you can breathe and enjoy the coral garden, swimming pool and the amazing terrasse of the restaurant. The food is excellent and organic, Wayan organises food classes where you can learn how to cook perfectly balinese healthy receipts. Don't forget to take some yoga classes too and to ask for advices to visite the region. The particularity of the restaurant, is the different types of Smiling Buddha functional drinks based on the indonesian traditional herbal and medicine knowledge of Wayan, try it and get stronger! Maybe you don't know it but Elisabeth Gilbert wrote part of her book: Eat, pray, love at the the Smiling Buddha. So eat, pray and love! Lots of love from Anna & Pierre.

An unforgettable stay — the heart of Balinese hospitality My experience at Meditasi Bungalows was simply incredible. The room felt like a 4-star hotel: spotless, peaceful, and right by the sea. But what truly makes this place unique is everything beyond the room. Their restaurant is the best I’ve found in Bali — offering unique local dishes you won’t easily find elsewhere. They even offer cooking classes so you can learn how to prepare them yourself. The staff is incredibly caring and attentive. The owner is one of the most welcoming people I’ve met — always available, genuinely interested in getting to know guests, and passionate about sharing Balinese culture. They help with everything you need during your stay: advice, transport, activities… It’s more than a stay — it’s a full experience of warmth and authenticity. Terima kasih!

This was the most beautiful place in every way. Our room directly overlooked the sea where we could watch, from our cool, breezy terrace, the sun rise. It is incredible. The pool is secluded, immaculately clean save for the falling frangipani flowers. The restaurant is peaceful, again directly looking over the sea to the quiet bay filled with fishing boats. They serve brilliant food particularly local specialities which we had not seen in other places. They catered so well to our vegetarian/ vegan diet. Breakfast is also delicious with a wide range of options. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. As if that is not enough, the snorkeling is the best we've experienced in 6 months across Asia and Australia, accessed directly off the beach outside the restaurant. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

Experiencing Meditasi Bungalows is just magical! The place has a special way of making you feel at home, like you belong. The peace you feel when you step into this beautiful place is undesirable.

The owner and the staff is amazing. I don’t think I have ever met people this kind and smiling, always willing to help you if you have a question.

The bungalows are beautiful and very clean. I am fascinated how little flies and mosquitoes are around here. Maybe because there is always a refreshing sea wind. Directly at the sea, amazing to hear the ocean all the time and to fall asleep to.

I also really liked it that I could book excursions at the reception, just as I didn’t even had to leave to get a massage, she came to my own bungalow! Now that is luxury!

On the property they have a restaurant as well, smiling Buddha, and it is amazing. The food is all organic and they have mostly vegan and healthy options. The dishes have a lot of taste to it, I loved every single meal.

In addition to that, they organize a cooking class every morning at 11:00 A.M. which is fun!

Also you can participate in different styles of yoga classes for all levels. This is everyday in the afternoon at 05:00 P.M. and really fits with the setting of the place.

Snorkeling here is really amazing to. The coral and fish are beautiful. There are a lot of snorkeling options just in front of the bungalows and close by and Meditasi bungalows can arrange it al.

As there are many beautiful rice fields and amazing sunsets and special points where you have the best view (which they can take you to see).

The surrounding is breathtaking as well and If you want to experience the feeling of contentment, joy and peace, I recommend to book...

Meditasi, accommodations were just as described and the room is large and comfortable with beautiful views and large outdoor balcony with a day bed and beautiful views and sunrises. ||The food was ok , as I was one of the few visitors here at this time and they have a few choices to choose from. ||I like the property as a beautiful get away as I live in Ubud about 2.5 hours from Amed Beach. ||AC was great and shower was good with plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfortable. ||What I didn’t care for that no one previously has written or mentioned in a current review was loud music coming from somewhere at night. It was frustrating when trying to sleep. ||There is no walkable beach and I like to take morning beach walks. It is all rocks with fishing boats on shored so no place here to walk. ||Further barking dogs with packs of them roaming the property next door and barking loudly. I didn’t appreciate that with the beauty and solitude of the property. ||Lastly the property is further north and more isolated from walking to other restaurants and or convenience stores. You would need to bring anything with you that you want unless you rent a motorbike while your here ||All in all was a nice visit to Amed. Beautiful Place for getting away with stunning views ||Finally the property is cash only with their pricing policy so you should know and recognize that prior to...
