Maha Lokha Balangan — Hotel in Kuta Selatan

Location: The road leading to the hotel is extremely narrow and in poor condition, with no alternative route. While the hotel is on the main road, it’s hard to find due to a small, unclear sign.

Staff & Service: The highlight of our stay was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Despite checking in late at night, the staff was present and welcoming.

Breakfast: The breakfast was enjoyable, and we appreciated the variety. However, the dining experience was affected by the constant noise from the road and ongoing construction at the property.

Facilities: The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. However, there was a noticeable smell of humidity. Some amenities, like the TV and safety box, didn’t work, but the room included a mini fridge. The swimming pool is nice, but privacy is an issue, as construction workers nearby can see into...

I cannot fathom how this place has better reviews, my only explanation is that they are from the initial week's after the accommodation was opened and therefore the mold and filth hadn't had time to accumulate. As you can see from my photos, the place looks more like a prison than somewhere else and that there is a serious dampness and mold issue. Luckily for you you can't smell the bathrooms. The smell in the shower and toilet is utterly disgusting. I'm sure if one was to spend too much time in them, one would develop a respiratory infection. In addition to all of these complaints, the construction surrounding the back of the property, and the street in front of it means that there is absolutely no peace and quiet to be had. This makes sitting on the balcony or by the pool impossible.

This place was a huge let-down for me. I was supposed to stay for a week, but finding a real unpleasant smell in the toilet (mould at the ceiling), no place to chill by the (dirty) pool area. The staff is hard to communicate with, and there is a lot of noise from construction around the area, made me want to leave after one night. I had to pay full price (4.000.000 IDR) in cash, no receipt, and then they told the booking site I used that I never showed. Also the place is very remote, so if you come here you need everything settled beforehand. Don’t recommend as female...
