The Plagoo hotel in Bali was a terrible experience. I arrived at the hotel at 4 in the morning and my room was in bad shape , with cockroaches in the shower ( which I took pictures of). I did not stay even that night as I checked out immediately and went to another hotel. I was booked for 16 nights and could not even get a 14 night refund ( which was applicable according to their rules and regulations) . My father in Canada & Expedia tried every single day to connect with the hotel. No-one answered the phone and no-one returned emails. Then after 3 weeks of trying, they get back to Expedia and told them that no refund would be provided because we were too late. I am out over $1200 Canadian. Please beware.
Update March 5th 2025 : With response to the management of the hotel. Check your booking again , it was booked with Expedia ( or perhaps you would like me to send you the confirmation number from Expedia). I am totally appalled that you would deceive the public into believing this information. My son is out $1300 cdn. ( don't forget that he did not even stay 30 minutes at your hotel & , by the way, did check out and leave the key at the front desk). I will continue to work hard to receive compensation for this travesty. update March 7th 2025 : with response to the latest email from Management. Please note my original review whereby I stated that both expedia and myself were unable to connect with anyone at your hotel for over 2 weeks. I tried your email (referred to in your message )and after a few days, my emails always came back to me with the message that " it was unable to be sent" ( why is That ???). Please connect with the representatives with Expedia that have been working on our case. Thank you. Update : March 10th. I tried your email again and once again , the ,message came back with "the message was unable to be sent" . I am still hoping that you are concerned with what has transpired at your hotel. So Disappointed with the service of "GOODWAY VACATION CLUB" The program is useless, stay 2 night at GOODWAY BALI as a member of GVC , we are not well treated....the staff of the hotel seems doesn't want to handle any request from us, they just forward us to the special GRO who is handling the GVC member....
What a surprise the room is totally different with the showing room, no stove which is the most important thing for me because I need to cook for my baby
Complaining to the Jakarta Office and handling like a ping pong.... I wish to cancel my GVC which I'm ready to loose 2 million as penalty but after a week conversation they said can not..... ok
After that incident, I try to book another hotel in Jakarta for Lebaran period in JUly ( I was booked at the end of March ) and so surprising even the hotel is affiliation they don't know the point I need to redeem to book the hotel, the reason because the hotel did not issue the rate...ok, tha I asked when approx. I can get the information about the point and again they said can not guarantee, doesn't know...how can you received a reservation if you don;t know... ( instead of tell me will try to follow up and call me back in 1 or 2 weeks)
One of the staff in Goodway Bali told me that because the GVC is different owner with the Goodway Bali that is why they treat us different ( read : worst, not better as a member) and they suggest that there is other hotel in Bali which is brand new...But again when I asked the reservation they say they have a cooperation but we can not book because Bali is Goodway home based....

Read moreGoodway Hotel now Plagoo Holiday Hotel greeted us with a look of surprise. There was no welcome drink even though the trek to the hotel is steep and a long distance. Initially, we were given the wrong room but it was rectified accordingly. Plagoo Holiday Hotel has wonderful landscaped grounds and a large well equipped pool. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Daily shuttle service is great. Without this service, it would be extremely difficult to leave hotel. On a negative note, Plagoo caters for a majority of Chinese tourists, and most do not have the same mannerisms as civilized people. The vulgar behavior even embarrassed my young daughters who had to witness disgusting unhygienic phlegm ridden spitting in and around the pool and eating area. Powerless staff looked on. The very boisterous behavior depicted characteristics unbecoming of grown adults. Do not expect the polite, expected protocols of lining up to be served. Some believe aggressive mannerisms are the only way to get what they want, first. These tourist disappear on day trips at 9am and return by 6pm, which in turn highlights the splendid facilities Plagoo has to offer. The breakfast changes every second day. Rooms are cleaned daily by unhappy staff who clearly depict the effects of daily abuse. Rules on behavior in and around the pool are clearly ignored. Diving and bombing into the shallow pool is constant by mostly grown middle aged men, and when splashed whilst eating dinner, it does not phase them. Smoking and throwing cigarette butts where they stand is the usual.|In closing, Plagoo Holiday Hotel can be a great hotel, but the clientele it chooses to target is its’...
