Mercure Madiun — Hotel in Madiun

Very poor service. The room remained uncleaned 7.5 hours after a 5:30 AM housekeeping request. A pizza order took 75 minutes to arrive cold, despite two reminders. Staff were unable to understand or respond to my complaint in English.

This hotel isn't ready for business yet.

Day 2....

A catastrophic and deeply concerning service failure that raises serious questions about how this hotel is run and how its staff are managed.

This debacle continued the very next morning, following the failures outlined previously.

I requested a knife to cut the uncut bread. Staff appeared to understand, but then walked away, disappeared, and behaved as though the conversation had never happened. This process repeated with two different staff members.

A fluent English-Indonesian speaker then clearly explained my request for two five-minute boiled eggs. What arrived were cold, hard-boiled eggs. After a second explanation, the replacements arrived undercooked and raw. By that point, the toast was cold.

Bizarrely, the uncut bread and the knife—both previously claimed to be unavailable—suddenly appeared. There weren’t even knives in the restaurant to accompany the forks.

This was not a single isolated failure, but evidence of a broader breakdown in communication, service, and staff management. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I have never experienced anything remotely this...

I had an unforgettable 1-night stay at Mercure Madiun. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The hotel truly lives up to the international standards of quality and hospitality.||The facilities and room were exceptional—clean, modern, spacious, and very well-designed. It felt incredibly comfortable, like a home away from home. I was also lucky to receive a free room upgrade, which was such a wonderful surprise! Even more impressive, there was a personalized welcome card with my photo, a welcome message on the TV, and a unique mirror art greeting in the room. Such details showed the hotel’s thoughtful and high-level service.||Located right in the heart of Madiun, the hotel offers convenient access to everywhere. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, this place is truly perfect. Mercure Madiun exceeded my expectations in every way. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city. Firstly of all, I would like to thank Dicky & especially the enthusiastic and committed staff, Fido, who showed welcoming and warming attitude to make us like at home. He introduced the special juice on the drink counter, and he is very passionate in serving. He takes pride of his work. Impressive service that I've ever met. He knows what we need, he uses his spirit to touch our heart. Fido is the very important asset in Madiun Mercure.

The room is magnificent one, and the house keeping team is very professional. They are someone who make us feel to stay in this well maintained room for whole day.

This just opened 1 month hotel has filled with passionate team and all are very energetic and generous to smile to us. Even the bell boy welcomes us with his widest smile.

Ramadan buffet is the best among all. The staff in the cafe is magnificent. Well done Mercure Madiun.
