Hotel Grand Cakra — Hotel in Malang

The only bit of annoying issue staying at this hotel is the quality of the WiFi. Very poor internet connection. We have to call the reception to resolve the problem. Then one attendant came, bringing a re-router, or repeater, or whatever they call it to be installed in the room. The connection then worked. I think the management of the hotel should pay serious attention to this issue as so many feed back already sent regarding this subject. Otherwise, the hotel is nice, located in a friendly housing complex. There's a hospital just across the lawn, then there are a Star Bucks, a mini plaza, a supermarket right across the street. Stayed for 5 nights in this hotel. And it is very horrible. We traveled to Malang from The Netherlands. But we cannot have a good rest in this hotel. There is no good ventilations inside the rooms. We also need to asked to change to other room because the card holder inside the room is broken. Moved to other room it is still horrible. Still no good ventilations inside the room. The water in the shower also very very small. We also being disturbed a lot with the voices from the alley. SO LOUD everything. From other guests , the workers. The bed sheets was also a lot of stains!! that is very disgusting to be honest!!!! And after we complained and we wanted to check out 2 days before our booking, we cannot have a refund!!! The first impression was not good. First of all, the door to the toilet/shower did not close and the bed was not clean. After informing the front desk, instead of offering us a new room, they send repair men to our room who start fixing the door. At that point, being tired of traveling and aching for a shower, some more selected words to the front desk did secure us a new room which they did. This time the bed was clean and the door closed, although the shower heads in every shower seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in a while.

On the upside, the breakfast was good with options including both Western and local cuisine.
