This was my first time staying in 101 with my family, booked 2 rooms for 3 days and 2 nights. My notes for 101:

Quick response from hotel staff for any help needed

We plan to go to bromo in the first day, and we should start from hotel at night, when the rental car pick me up in the lobby at 11.30pm, suddenly the hotel staff come to me and asking whether we have ordered "advance" breakfast since we'll not be in hotel in the morning, i did not know if this hotel will prepare the meal/food for beakfast if we order for it. This is very good service but unfortunately i did not notice.

I stay with my parent and my children (11&13 yo), total 6 persons.... while for the breakfast should be only for 4 persons. In the last day i call guest service to ask whether we can have breakfast for 6 persons otherwise i should pay for another 2 persons, it's OK for me. But surprisingly, the staff said that we can hv breakfast for 6 persons because we did not use our breakfast yesterday.

As the first guest, 101 gave us special welcoming cake, hot tea.....room delivery! And they gave special discount for any transaction in the hotel -- i used this to order food for diner.

The breakfast menu: enough choices and have good taste in my opinion specially for the local food like kikil soup.

The only problem is the Lift, they have two main lift but one was not operated/under maintenance, it makes longer waiting time in this peak seasson.

Location is very near with some famous local food warung like Bakso pak Man, Lontong Kupang, nasi pedas 'kay pang' and some hang out place like kopi tiam cafe.

Overall, i'm happy to stay in this hotel.... and will recommend this hotel to my friends. Thanks...

101 Hotel Malang has a strategic location in the middle of Malang city. Getting to this hotel is also quite easy. Hotel was comfortable and the service was very good. ||Positive notes for this hotel: |- Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. When I booked via Agoda and provided notes about the room I wanted, everything was fulfilled. |- Good service. |- The bedroom is very comfortable and clean. I booked Superior Room.|- The bathroom is clean and equipped with toiletries and a hair dryer. |- In the room there is a fridge and savings box. |- A large Google TV is available in the room, complete with Netflix, Vidio, Youtube etc. |- Wifi is smooth. |- Breakfast is delicious and lots of menu choices. Recommended. |- The hotel has a swimming pool, children's play area and gym. |- There is also a hotel's café on the top floor with views of the mountains and Malang city. |- Several meeting rooms are also available. |- In front of the hotel there is Sara's bakery and café. Just across the street. |- The price is still relatively reasonable, thus making the stay more comfortable. ||Disadvantages of this hotel: |- Car parking space is limited and narrow. However, valley service is provided if the parking lot is full. |- The AC in the room is a bit not cold. ||For those of you who want to vacation with your family or on a business trip in the city of Malang, I recommend this hotel as one of the right...

The breakfast was good with plenty of choices! The hotel room is clean and has everything you might need. However, sadly the dining experience we had wasn’t that good. There was barely anyone there and it felt like we weren’t really seen. When we finally did get our food it was cold. We always feel really apprehensive when giving critique because we can see everyone is trying their best, but it was really difficult to get our pizza to be heated up a little bit. In the morning, when I was having my breakfast someone came up to me asking if I could write a review on Google. After filling in my ratings she tapped the 5 stars for me in the box for the whole hotel experience. When I clicked that back to 4 stars she asked me if she could change it to 5 stars. I explained that it wouldn’t feel honest to me to do that. To sum it up, I would say the hotel is fine! Definitely go there if you plan on staying here. However, there are definitely some things to work on and maybe some (smaller) hotel(chains) that are...
