We stayed at Manta Cottage for 4 nights while visiting Nusa Penida. On first impression, the cottage itself and the view from the cottage were breathtaking. It has an unobstructed view of the sea from their swimming pool. The cottage is filled with greenery. Check-in was seamless, and their staff were super friendly. The staff arranged a transfer for us to the harbor at a reasonable price. Now, the unexpected part. The AC in one of our rooms was very bad. We complained to the reception and was switched to another room where it was better but not the best. One of our room had an issue with the bed where it literally broke in the middle of the night, we complained to the reception, and they said they would fix it. Upon our return, we sat on the bed, and it literally broke again. We inspected the bed and found out the wood to be rotten, and the staff just put some nails to solve the issue. We somehow managed for the remaining nights, being extra careful on the bed. The water in their swimming pool and washroom was salt water, which damaged our clothes and jewelry. We had issues with the water in the washroom, where it randomly stopped working and would come back after a few minutes. The water pressure in the shower was super slow. The restaurant at the reception only serves limited breakfast until 10 am with only 3 items to choose from and no food after that. The closest restaurant to the cottage is a 10-minute drive. So unless you have a scooter or a ride, you will have to walk quite a bit for food. We found a warung about 20 minutes away who agreed to deliver to the cottage for a fee. The swimming pool had bugs and wasn't cleaned regularly. The rooms are not equipped with any fridge, hairdryer, or other simple necessities. The rooms were not cleaned regularly, and we literally had to ask them to clean it when it got super messy. They did not provide us with drinking water regularly. We had to purchase our own. The hotel is not suitable for disabled or handicapped individuals as you have to climb a lot of stairs. Overall, it was a decent experience, but we believe the owner should definitely look into improving their service. We look forward to visiting them again someday and hope things...

1.Main staff(Name : didi) of the hotel is not supportive at all . He tried to tricked us several times to get money out of my pocket . He was not helpful enough . His behavior is totally different to brown and to white people .He behaves well with white people . Let me share an incident here . I had rented a bike at IDR 75,000 . After driving few KM , I had accident. It wasn't major and I had decided to return the bike . There was no damage on bike but he was asking for IDR 100,000 . He was showing me a paint scratched at break handle as damage whereas he didn't know I am very much expert on bikes. When he had understood that I have good knowledge on bike then he didn't ask for extra money . 2. I had stayed there for 3 nights but didn't received any room service for cleaning . 3. hotel is not clean enough. I found gang of ants and so I had to change my room at the time of checking in . 4. Toilet door is partially transparent which is very much disturbing. Not enough privacy . 5. Tap water is fully salty as it is not treated well . 6. Stairs of hotel are very risky . It should have rail or anyone could have accident . 7. Hotel is full of FROGS . They make sounds whole night and it makes...

I'm sorry to say this but I wouldn't reccomend this place.

First, not worth the price, there are plenty others inn that are better than this. Second, the service was awfull. I came around 3 p.m. for check in, but our room wasn't ready, not even one. We waited for more than 2 hours. They said that breakfast start at 6 a.m., so we come to dining hall at 6.30 a.m. cause we want to start the day early and explore Nusa Penida. But lo and behold, their staff arrived around 8 a.m., and only start taking order at 8.30 a.m. food only come around 10 a.m. Their staff is also rude and not helpfull at all. One just diss me and pretend not to hear me when I'm right in front of his face. Third, the bathroom 👎 there's a leak right above my toilet. God knows where that water come from. It keeps on dripping quite fast. And the water is very salty. I couldn't even wash my teeth. Ohh and it would be very awkward if you share a room with your friend cause the door to the bathroom is literally a big clear glass. You can see everything in the bathroom from outside. Fourth, really FARR from anything. No food, no light in the roads, no minimart.

We were booked at some other place which was terrible and had to change hotels at the last minute. This was within walking distance from the previous property and was priced decently. The rooms were big, clean and airy and the Seaview from the rooms are too die for. The bathrooms had bathtubs, bidets and hot water. The pool is another great add on. The staff is friendly and accommodating but communication is a little challenging in English. Fir complimentary breakfast, you get to choose between eggs and toast, pancakes and nasigoreng and a drink. Con: Too many stairs to get to the rooms, no provision of lifts. It is in an isolated part of the island, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, great! There is not much to do on this side of the island, so it's very quiet post sunset. The restaurant is very average, I recommend walking down a bit to grab a bite at D'Ana or Seatara instead of eating here. General recommendation for Nusa Penida: Hire a car to go around. The roads are narrow and hilly and riding a bike maybe dangerous.
