Ion Hotel — Hotel in Padang

This my second time visit and stay at Ion Hotel||The location very strategic due to 100metera from Basko Mall||Those intent to day visit to Bukit Tinggi, the van cater to the place is just opposite the hotel. Only RP22k one way for 2.5hours||The first time I stayed here, noise from the top level due to renovation. now i stay at the same room 308. i knew its due to top floor is the kitchen||First time most complaint is about smokers at lobby where ironically ground level treated as non-smoking room. Ive found this time, the wall full with sign of NO SMOKING and its really works. Keep up this great work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. let the people respect us on this!||For current stay, I do booked the Tapioca Fritters with white coffea. it is cheap and delicious. managed to tried the dinner but so limited choice as only soup, kailan vegetable and no orange juice||Taste is delicious but not up to the par. really need improve on fasten the service and food preparation.||Breakfast is great, selection of fried vermicelli and fried rice which both average spicy, eggs, chips and salad. plus sandwich bread toast. I can't take the butter with chocolate. would like to suggest if possible serve coconut butter (selai kaya) or kind of local fruits marmalade as serawa durian, roselle or chicken floss.||I have no complaint on the room, its a perfect beyond budget room. infact the towel and toiletries as good as 4 star hotel.||This time weakness really need to improve is WIFI|-upper level rely on cafe wifi on level 4|-lowel level rely on lobby wifi||for international guest, this really turn off when we stay less than a week. dependency on wifi is kind of CRUCIAL||All in All, worth to stay here even bit pricey Rp368k but its extremely clean and feel safe. willing to call it as Business...

I was in a great mood for holiday to Padang-palembang for 7nites during Chinese New Year or called here as Imlek.im expected for fully booked room but its consider "low season" where most local went to excursion, family gathering and or fly abroad to Malaysia-Singapore.||First night landed at Minangkabau International Hotel, Padang and immediate take Damri Airport Transit bus for rp26,000 to city centre or Basko Grand Mall.from there, its 500meters walking distance to Ion Hotel or simply take minibus called angkot for rp2000.||||ADVANTAGE||BUILDING-main tenant for 2doors 5storey terrace building.feel confident||FRONT DESK-very friendly and profesional||FACILITY-lobby but people freely smoking||WIFI-unfortunately at the lobby only.while in d room, provided cable for laptop||ROOM-superb! but no cloth hanger||-ground floor room cater for non-smoking.most female chose the rooms.unfortunately, its the sanctuary for the smokers sitting at the main lobby.||FOOD-provided cafe for snacks to heavy meal deliver to room at affordable price ||padang mix rice is less 100m on the left side||OTHERS||-the frontdesk allow me to check in early due to vacant and considering im look so exhausted||-The days I check in, the room so 'steamy' due to the aircond not pre-prepared to welcome guest.it takes 30min to hv cool room after struggling switching the remote control.||-towels and toiletries is perfect.4star!||-Qiblat arrow for moslem displayed well.||-terrible, annoying renovation work from beside room(?) doing drilling from noon to evening,what the hell!||-each floor covered by limited cctv and lift||||recommended for those prior for safety,comfort and bit luxury at...

When we were in Padang for the first time, we wanted to stayed at a nice&decent 3 star hotel. This hotel was recommended by one of my friend who lives here in Padang. There were 7 of us so we had to take 2 rooms and was offered the ground floor rooms. To my amazement and shocked, the room was sooooo small with an even smaller so call king-size-bed! there's no room to move around, the rooms got no carpet, the aircond was too cold and worst and i repeat, worst of all, the room smell of smoke the whole time i stayed there!! I couldnt even sleep because of the smell, even all my clothes and pyjamas smell of cigarette smoke! This is because the management of the hotel allowed people to smoke inside the hotel which is air conditioned and closed.||The bathroom was also terrible, as the shower was always in a hot mode even when we switch it to cold. The staff was so-so, but the bell boy was very nice and helpful and so does the security boy outside the hotel. The location was ok, but not that great. We had to take a taxi to get to the nearest shopping mall to buy stuff. After one night, i decided that was it, and we change to another hotel.
