RM Lamun Ombak - Khatib Sulaiman — Restaurant in Padang

The taste is delicious, but the attitude of one of the servants here made the experience absolutely not satisfying for me. The servant didn't note down the dishes he put on my table properly then he tried to charge me a dish that wasn't even being served. When i confronted him about it he relented but then he talked behind my back in local laguange thinking i wouldn't understand, something alog the line of "this javanese woman trying to fool me, i would know better since i always put the same dishes everyday". Jokes on him, i am a minangnese who lives in jakarta so i understood his mocking just fine! Maybe lamun ombak resto can work on their servants' attitude more? Tell them to not be racist? Tell them to note down or even photograph the dishes they put on the table so they won't accuse their customers rudely like what...

This restaurant has been said as the largest Padang-style restaurant in Padang. Locals always recommend to go try it out. During my visit, I tried some of their specialties: sate ayam, ayam pop and ayam goreng; as well as gulai tunjang too.. sate is more javanese style with peanut sauce (not yellow sauce as typical sate padang) tho it's good. Ayam pop is just mediocre. The gulai tunjang is very tender, but somehow tasted a bit weird, the coconut sauce seems not fresh. One of the big restaurants in Padang city, I came here in the morning, at 9 am, and they already opened, but the menu was still a few, I ordered Ayam Pop and Perkedel, Ayam Pop is a chicken dish from Padang, Chicken boiled in coconut milk and served with spicy chili, perkedel is a local dish from potatoes which form to a small ball and covered with egg yolk, and then deep frying, and surprisingly the price was affordable, it all cost only IDR29K
