My recent stay at Basko Hotel in Padang, Indonesia, with my family and relatives, was intended to be a luxurious retreat, as we were led to believe by its advertised 5-star status. However, our experience was starkly different, highlighting serious issues in the hotel's services and facilities.
Upon arrival, one of the first inconveniences we encountered was the promised easy access to a nearby shopping center. This feature, highlighted in the hotel's promotions, turned out to be a significant misrepresentation. The access doors that were supposed to connect the hotel to the shopping center were permanently closed, forcing us to take long, unnecessary detours. This was not just an inconvenience but a clear deviation from what was advertised.
The disappointments continued as we settled into our rooms. We had booked five rooms, expecting a certain standard of comfort and convenience. The reality, however, was a series of letdowns. In every room, we faced similar issues: the bathroom taps were not working, the shower taps were broken, and even the hairdryers were out of order. These are not minor issues; they are basic necessities. For a hotel that claims to offer a high-end experience, this was unacceptable.
Further adding to our frustration was the unstable Wi-Fi connection. In today's world, a stable internet connection is a basic expectation, especially in a hotel that prides itself on providing a premium experience. The unreliable Wi-Fi was a major inconvenience, affecting both our leisure time and any work-related activities we needed to do.
Another noticeable absence was the room service for massages. This is a common feature in many Indonesian hotels, particularly those that are considered upscale. The lack of such a service at Basko Hotel was another indication that it falls short of the standard it claims to uphold.
It's important to stress that these problems were not isolated to a single room but were consistent across all the rooms we occupied. This widespread occurrence suggests that the issues at Basko Hotel are systemic and indicative of larger operational failures.
In conclusion, our experience at Basko Hotel was a clear reminder that a hotel should not only market itself as a luxury establishment but also follow through on that promise with actual services and amenities. My review is a forthright and detailed reflection of our experience, aimed at providing future guests with a transparent picture of what they might encounter and urging the hotel management to acknowledge and address these critical issues. The gap between what Basko Hotel claims to offer and what it actually provides is not just a minor oversight; it's a significant breach of trust that needs...
Read moreThis is by far the worst 5 star hotel I have EVER stayed in. The claim of being 5 star is a joke. We checked in and got to our room... and discovered a dirty room with broken phones, the bathroom was disgusting, the shower didn't drain bringing up thick black slime whilst in the shower. It was appalling! I took pictures to highlight just how gross it was. I have only skimmed the tip of the iceberg with this review, but don't stay here... EVER!|Oh by the way, while we were there we experienced an earthquake. The epicenter was 79 miles away and was a 6.2 on the Richter scale. We weren't checked on to see if we were ok and when I came out of our room to see if we needed to evacuate. I just got some guy laughing as they cleared away the piece of ceiling that had fallen off and a huge crack appeared in the wall.|To top it off we had ordered a taxi the night before and because there was 4 of us with lots of luggage we ordered a mini van. They gave away our taxi to a single woman and 20 minutes later than we were supposed to leave a small blue car appeared squeezing us all in with the trunk still open from all the luggage and we had luggage on our laps. We had to take the tiny taxi otherwise we would've been late checking in for our flight.|One night was even too much in this awful place!! |Check out...
