Im writing this in google review because I am sure someone will get back to me. I wrote a complaint to this hotel via email that sent by All Accor few months ago but NO ONE gets back to me. You clearly only focus on social media image but not to loyal guests like All Accor member.
This is my second time staying in this hotel and I got equally disappointed. It has literally zero recognition to ALL ACCOR member. I am only a classic member but still, It's like all the staff has no training regarding this matter. No warm welcome, let alone appreciation or thanks to a member. Am I reaching for the star here? Of course not. I know that I am not staying in Raffles, Sofitel or Fairmont but you have standards to follow. Ibis Budget & Ibis Style Soekarno-Hatta is a great example to follow.
Let's talk about the problems on my current stay.
I booked through All Accor Apps (which all of my details are there including my credit card details). Upon check in the cold, confused and untrained reception forgot to get my credit card which I hold in my hand at that time. So the payment has not been made.
I just had a 20 hours journey from overseas, and rest is essential to ease my jetlag. Realizing he (the reception) didn't get my payment, He called my room and asking the payment. I said will go down to the lobby at my convenience and also, the hotel have my credit card details as a payment guarantee anyway.
Apparently not happy with my answer, He came up and barging on my door when Im about to sleep and forcing again to settle to room payment. I was absolutely furious. Pak Rahmat as MOD handled this matter afterwards.
I want nothing to do with hotel staff anymore so I put DO NOT DISTURB sign on my door. Meaning, I just want to rest. Yet, on the following day, a reception called my room and ask a very important question. "Bapak mau sarapan atau sahur untuk besok"? Didn't I inform you to leave me alone and I have DND sign on my door? That's it. Im moving to Santika Hotel.
I was staying here on August 9th, 2023 and I vividly remember asking to borrow an Iron and Iron board. Your staff respond was the Iron is not available because its all out and I need to reserve that Iron and Iron board when I book the room. Beyond ridiculous.
To fellow All Accor members, this hotel is one to avoid.
Revising my previous review
After the incident, Pak Yogi (Front Office Manager) sent a personal hand-writing letter to my room. He was asking if I was available to talk in person. I finally had a conversation with him upon check out.
He explained the situation, apologized and offered any kind of assistance to rectify the problem. I understood the situation and he said he will retrain his team to do better in the future.
He insisted to drive me personally with one of the staff to Santika Hotel, their competitor.

Read moreThis hotel is relatively new and located in the very heart of Palembang city, with the price I got, it's actually quite worth every penny.
And this hotel also honor my free room upgrade voucher, hopefully the steak continues.
Food were okay, they put milk in a jar with ice, so I think, when the ice melts, the milk ratio decreased due to water.
The Welcome drink is just consentrated juice, I kinda wish it was something more.
I like the most from this hotel is the room. I like the shower and the big window, plus extra points for the bolsters. Nice!
Though my only disappointment was about the KarnavALL Experience. Didn't lie, I was expecting for some Batik souvenir and not a cake. It was said that the cake was inspired by Batik, I look hard at the cake, and all I can think was, "What the heck!".
It's just a simple sponge cake with jam ornament that's hardened due to the wind from aircon. The cake was not even special, just so-so. I guess I do have too high of an expectation from the program.
A small purse or pouch might have been a better option.
Don't want to close this review with a low note, because the other parts of the hotel was indeed great. Do visit the pool and gym on the 10th floor, I wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel.
