Dear Batur Hot Springs Management, Yesterday I visited your beautiful hot springs and, while the natural surroundings were truly stunning, I witnessed a deeply concerning interaction that I feel must be brought to your immediate attention. Yesterday, I observed a situation involving two of your on-site massage therapists that left a guest visibly shaken. The guest had entered the massage area and received a massage without issue. However, upon exiting, she was verbally confronted by another masseuse also employed by your establishment who was visibly upset for not being chosen by the guest. This confrontation quickly escalated into a public scene involving yelling and arguments not only with the guest but also between the two massage therapists. The guest, understandably distressed, expressed to me afterwards that she felt threatened and unsafe during what should have been a peaceful and relaxing experience. Additionally, the guest mentioned that the massage pricing was not clearly communicated. She was quoted IDR 150,000 but was not informed of the massage duration. After only 20 minutes, the masseuse abruptly ended the session and demanded another IDR 150,000 for a further 30 minutes. This lack of clarity feels exploitative, especially in a setting that hosts international visitors who rely on transparent pricing and fair treatment. I strongly urge Batur Hot Springs to take the following actions: Immediately address the conduct of the staff involved. Ensure proper training is in place to prevent future incidents. Clearly display signage indicating all massage service options, durations, and pricing just as you do for your other services. Your business is a destination for both domestic and international travelers, and experiences like this can greatly damage your reputation. Clear communication, professional conduct, and guest safety must be a priority. Thank you for your attention to this...

Batur Natural Hot Spring

Overall Rating: 3/5

Pros:

Beautiful location overlooking Lake Batur Variety of pools to choose from, with different temperatures Great way to relax after a hike or other activity Friendly staff

Cons:

Pricey Changing and shower facilities are poor Flies everwhere

Review:

I visited Batur Natural Hot Spring after hiking up Mount Batur. It was a great way to relax my muscles and soak in the beautiful views. The pools are a variety of temperatures, so you can find one that is just right for you. The staff was friendly and helpful.

However, I did find the price to be a high. The entrance fee is 195,000 IDR ($13 USD) which includes towel and drink. The changing and shower facilities are also quite poor. The changing rooms, and the showers are based in what looks like a old warehouse with battered lockers.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Batur Natural Hot Spring. However, I think the price is a high, and the changing and shower facilities need to be improved.

Tips:

Bring sunglasses and sun scream Go early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds, seems to mirror the crowds from mountain batur.

Overall, I would recommend Batur Natural Hot Spring to people who are looking for a relaxing place to soak in the natural hot springs. However, be prepared to pay a bit of a premium for...

After completing the tough early morning trek to Mount Batur, we visited the Batur Natural Hot Spring, and it was exactly what we needed. We were completely exhausted after the climb, but the warm, healing waters helped us recover and relax almost instantly.

The setting is beautiful, with several pools overlooking the calm Lake Batur and the surrounding mountains. The hot springs are clean, well-maintained, and have pools of different temperatures, so you can choose as per your comfort. The mineral-rich water really soothes tired muscles and refreshes the body.

On arrival, they provide you with a towel and a welcome drink, which was a very thoughtful touch. There is also a café inside where you can buy more food and drinks if needed, making the experience even more comfortable.

The facilities like changing rooms, lockers, and seating areas are good. I would suggest carrying a change of clothes for convenience.

It’s best to check online for more details and pictures before visiting, to select the right package.

Overall, visiting Batur Natural Hot Spring after the trek is highly recommended. It perfectly completes the Mount Batur experience and leaves you feeling...

Busy (I guess everyone including us went straight after Mount Batur sunrise), water in the bottom pools were dirty (big brown bits floating around), flies EVERYWHERE even in the pools which made it hard to relax and says something about hygiene - for context we've eaten outdoors most days and hardly seen any flies and that's with food around. Was not as warm as I'd expect from a hot spring, only the top pool was actually a nice temperature the rest were luke warm. Facilities were a bit gross, changing area and lockers were like a cattle herding area, a poor girl slipped on the steps down to the pool. Towels are provided though. It's expensive in Bali terms for what it is (190k "for foreigners" which is nearly £10, locals get cheaper). We left within an hour. I didn't even take pictures as I was so unimpressed. The view is nice but if you're in the area chances are you've seen views just as nice if not nicer. 5 sun loungers for 100 people so you can't even relax to see the view (you can forget about putting your towel somewhere dry!)
