Bungalow Jelita — Hotel in Sabang

I just needed a place to sleep for five nights with my own bathroom, and that's what I got for what seemed to be a fair price, in a place just five minutes away walking from Iboih beach.||||Basic small room with queen size bed that occupied most of the space, no furniture; fan, window that I couldn't open, and indonesian style toilet with shower, no hot water. All for 100K rupiahs per night. A little dark and uninspiring, but you can just walk outside if you need inspiration.||||Unfortunately, a few uncomfortable details appeared after the first promising impression. The room was very dirty, including sheets that were probably changed last year, and it had an ants nest right in one of the edges of the bed base. There were also plenty mosquitoes, spiders and even one cockroach. I asked the manager, Zubir, for some cleaning tools and insect killer, and after a couple of hours spent cleaning and killing, the room was alright. I was really upset, however, that he wouldn't give me a new set of sheets for the bed, so I spent the first night sleeping without sheets.||||But before I could spend my second night I met the owner. Well, meeting is too much; he just started talking to me randomly as I was heading to my room and I had to stop him in the middle of his speech to ask him who are you. As it's typical with indonesians in remote areas, his english was pretty bad, and I do not know if it was his lack of english or just plain assholery that went along with his message: "I have a reservation for the room you're staying in from long time ago, so you need to leave tomorrow morning". Fortunately, I only paid two nights in advance, so no money problems there, but why did the manager told me he had that room for five days and then this guy comes up and tells me he needs the room? Yang menyenangkan dari Jelita dibandingkan dengan bungalow lainnya yang ada di Iboih adalah posisinya. View di depan bungalow langsung pantai, tidak terlalu ramai tapi dekat dengan minimarket, masjid juga ATM.||||Dari segi fasilitas standar-standar saja. AC, TV, Dispenser, kamar mandi dengan shower. Tapi semuanya jalan dan lancar, itu yang menyenangkan. Dari segi kebersihanpun, kamar dan kamar mandi sangat bersih.||||Nilai tambah yang membuat saya meng-upgrade nilainya dari average ke sangat bagus adalah service. Abang pengelola bungalow ini sangat helpful. Dan tetep ramah.||||Satu-satunya keluhan saya adalah masalah wifi. Meskipun bungalow ini menyediakan wifi, tapi koneksinya lemah dan sungguh lelet. Tapi tidak perlu khawatir. Bungalow ini tepat bersebelahan dengan Scuba Weh, toko yang menyediakan jasa rental maupun layanan scuba/diving. Saya dan teman-teman saya kemarin minta ijin "nebeng" koneksi wifi mereka, dan mereka memberikan passwordnya dengan free! Super lancar pula! Jadi saya rasa, Anda tidak perlu ragu untuk menginap di Jelita Bungalow...
