Hotel Horison Samarinda — Hotel in Samarinda

This is a 3-star hotel that consistently performs at a 4-star level — easily one of the best hotels in Indonesia, and definitely my top choice whenever I’m in East Borneo.

Whether you’re traveling solo, with family, or for business, Horison Hotel Samarinda has everything you need. This is my third time staying here, and the service keeps getting better every time. The rooms are spacious, super clean, and very comfortable. The air conditioning works perfectly, and an extra bed fits easily when needed. It’s rare for a 3-star hotel to provide a mini fridge and a water heater in the room, but Horison does — another reason why it feels more like a 4-star experience.

The bathroom is spacious too, with a good hot water system for showers. I’ve also tried their swimming pool and spa, both of which were clean, well-maintained, and staffed by friendly, helpful people.

One of the highlights of this hotel is the Santan Restaurant — hands down one of the best hotel restaurants I’ve experienced. It’s deliciously vegetarian-friendly, and most of the time, even vegan-friendly. The dishes aren’t oily, they're allergy-friendly, and there’s a good variety that caters to different dietary needs. Plus, it’s HALAL. I would love to see a wider selection of fruits and nuts in the future, but honestly, I’d happily eat here not just for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner if available. Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, the restaurant is worth a visit.

The hotel’s location is also excellent — within walking distance to many local attractions and conveniences. My only suggestion would be to consider expanding the parking area, as the hotel’s growing popularity means more guests with cars.

Overall, Horison Samarinda is a hidden gem with so much potential, and I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next visit...

Hotel Horison Banjarmasin is a delightful place to stay! The rooms are very comfortable, providing a relaxing environment perfect for unwinding after a long day. One highlight was the dinner menu, which offered a variety of delicious options that cater to different tastes. The in-room television deserves special mention too—it comes equipped with features like YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, and Disney Plus, so you'll never run out of entertainment choices.||However, there was one downside—the breakfast options lacked butter for the bread, which was somewhat disappointing. But overall, it’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for convenience and comfort.||Tip: Make sure to explore the dinner offerings—they're fantastic! The Room was fine and the service was fantastic. I'll point out things i find as good points.

First, they have this flyer which inform you to put the flyer on bed if you wanna change them. And if don't, they will change it every 2 days. Second, the wifi is quiet strong and stable. Third, I didn't find any inconvenience with the access card (in another accomodations, I have multiple times running down to the lobby just because the access card was run out of electricity or something). 4th, I love their pastries and the snack platters are beautiful. 5th, no sweat with the check-in or check-out things

The only thing I wanted to add is, the sink in my room and some other rooms. They don't have lid so It gave me goosebumps that I might drop and lose something...
