Ibis Samarinda — Hotel in Samarinda

I checked in tonight (24 March 2022) with my cellphone dead and also in a hurry to go to the toilet. at the entrance there is a security guard waiting to ask guests to scan the peduli lindungi apps. he asked me to do a scan but I was in a hurry to the toilet and I said if my phone was off. without a smile he said "it will also be asked at the reception". I think ok I will ask the receptionist for help. when the check-in process was in progress there were 3 guests who entered without a scan because the security was not at the door, when they were about to take the elevator suddenly the security came and asked if they had scanned? they said not yet then the security took the qr code board to scan while saying "whoever hasn't been scanned, I won't allow it to go up! scan first!" said without a smile like a military commander. Ok, the application of this SOP is indeed good and I know very well that security is only doing its job. but what I dissapointed about hotels like Ibis, can't you choose friendly security? smiles and friendliness don't need cost. we are guests, some of us may have just arrived here in tired condition after a long journey. but the attitude of security like that is very unfriendly we feel not like being in a hotel but like in a government agency that has bad service even though we pay to stay here. Love at first sight!

I had doubts when I was going to order because some reviews said that the check in and check out process took a long time, as well as the problem of fines for room cleanliness, friendliness issues and unavailability of swimming pools.

However I took the liberty to try it and I fell in love at first sight!

The security, receptionist and staff were friendly, the check-in process was not too long, and the room design was very cool! Moreover, there is a sophisticated Smart TV with a touch of personalization that should be appreciated. Unfortunately, the wifi is not working.

In addition, a swimming pool is also available with views of Samarinda city. The breakfast is also good with several menu choices.

But when we were about to check out, one of the officers pressed our room bell 2 times and quickly opened our room without permission. Even though a few minutes earlier the receptionist had just confirmed to us about the check out schedule. I am disappointed, but I try to understand that it will not happen again and become an improvement as he had apologized.

I would say, the quality really worth all the 💵. From room, food, service, view, to location, nothing gone "meh". I'm quite picky for " Bathroom", but actually i really love it. It's quite small, but really comfortable. It's just "enough" for showering IF you are traveling alone. Also, the water never disappoint me, all good, all warm, all clean. 24/7 hot shower 👍 And i love how they provide us not only with new towels but also with full and brand new toiletries each day. Love it. I might say, i didn't have the best meal here, but all the passties are nice and yummy. Also, the staffs were so helpful and friendly.
