I chose Hotel Santika Semarang because I have a family event near the hotel. Normally, I prefer staying at hotels under the Accr or Tentrm Group, but considering the location, I decided to book two rooms for two nights from January 30 to February 2.
Initially, I considered booking through the Santika app or contacting the hotel via WhatsApp. However, my experience communicating with Hotel Santika Semarang via WhatsApp was disappointing. The responses I received felt very templated and impersonal, lacking the warmth and attentiveness expected from a hospitality establishment.
Due to this, I opted to book through a third-party app instead. After securing my reservation, I reached out to the hotel via WhatsApp to confirm my booking and request a connecting room, as I was traveling with family. Unfortunately, I was informed that all connecting rooms were fully booked. While I understand that availability is limited, I then requested at least two rooms on the same floor or close to each other. However, instead of a more reassuring response, I received another generic reply stating that all special requests are subject to availability.
At this point, I felt somewhat disappointed. My stay was still two days away, and it was hard to believe that no effort could be made to accommodate my request. A more customer-oriented approach would have been to at least acknowledge the request and assure me that they would try their best to arrange it, rather than immediately giving a standard "subject to availability" response.
While I still look forward to my stay at Hotel Santika Semarang, my booking and pre-arrival experience have been underwhelming. I sincerely hope that the actual stay will be more pleasant and that the service will make up for this initial frustration. Otherwise, I might reconsider staying at Santika hotels...
Read moreWhenever I stop by Semarang, this hotel is always my go-to. There’s just something about the ambiance that makes it feel welcoming and comfortable. The cleanliness is top-notch, everything is well-maintained, and you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping the hotel in great shape.
The service? Spot on. From the moment you arrive, the security staff is super helpful..especially when charging an EV. They assist smoothly without any unnecessary hassle, making the process effortless. Then, as you step inside, the front desk team welcomes you warmly and handles all bookings efficiently, making check-in a breeze.
Breakfast is decent, but taste-wise, it’s just not my thing. The variety is there, but I personally found some of the flavors not quite to my liking. The bread, in particular, didn’t feel as fresh as I would’ve hoped. That said, everything is still well-prepared, and there’s nothing to really complain about.
The rooms? No issues whatsoever. Clean, spacious, and comfortable, with everything you’d expect from a quality stay. The bedding is comfortable, the amenities are well-stocked, and overall, it’s just the kind of room that makes you feel at ease.
Another big plus is the strategic location. If you’re looking to grab a snack or explore local food spots, you don’t have to go far..plenty of options nearby.
Overall, Hotel Santika Premiere Semarang consistently delivers a great stay with clean rooms, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. No wonder I keep...
Read moreDisappointing for a "4-Star" - More Like a 3-Star with Room for Improvement I recently stayed at Hotel Santika Premiere Semarang and while its city center location is excellent, I found the overall experience to be quite underwhelming for a hotel marketed as 4-star. In my opinion, it feels more like a 3-star property, primarily due to its aged condition and lack of upkeep. First, a significant inconvenience is the absence of an elevator from the parking area, making it difficult to transport luggage. The hotel generally feels old and outdated. My room, in particular, showed signs of wear and tear: the bed sheets and furniture looked worn out, and the washbasin sink and shower drain were clogged. What was most concerning was the presence of mold in the washroom, indicating a need for more thorough maintenance. Cleanliness also seemed to be an issue, as some of the plates were not clean. The breakfast, while available, was average with limited options, especially for foreign visitors, being predominantly Indonesian food. The bread and croissants were not good either. Even basic amenities like shampoo and body soap were of basic quality. While the location is truly fantastic, right in the city center, the hotel's current condition detracts significantly from the overall stay. It has the potential to be a great hotel, but a substantial renovation and a stronger focus on cleanliness and guest comfort are urgently needed to truly justify its...
