An incredibly special place to stay in Berastagi 💛. Nino and his mom will take care of you like you are family. Not only are the beds comfy, the rooms clean and spacious and the location great, the hosts are just the friendliest people who will go out of their way to make your stay special. Nino is a professional chef, and will not only cook you amazing food, but will go with you to the market and teach you how to make it yourself. He will also give you a tour of all the amazing fresh produce they grow on their property. Nino's mom helped us arrange public buses for local prices, and Nino even drove me down to the town to go to the pharmacy when we were sick. We were truly sad to leave their place, and feel like we have an aunty and brother in Indonesia now. Definitely recommend staying here.

The accommodation was very clean and has nice rooms with comfortable beds. There is a nice common area and a large kitchen. Nimo and Imo are very hospitable and can give many good tips for your stay in Berastagi. Both speak very good English. They will also be happy to negotiate the best price for public transport for you. It takes 10 minutes by bus to get to the city center and about 20 minutes to the starting point of the hike. Nimo is also a chef and not only knows how to cook a good breakfast, but is also happy to share his knowledge of Indonesian cuisine. The whole thing is completed by the dog Pigo, who is very happy to meet new people. We had a very good time there!

AVOID AT ALL COST. SEVERE MISREPRESENTATION, UNETHICAL AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICE.

Severe misrepresentation of accommodation and unethical business practices. I booked a "Three-bedroom bungalow" described as having three bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a living room, and balcony. Upon arrival, we discovered that the advertised bungalow was actually the host's private residence, and they attempted to place us in a significantly inferior double room in poor condition.

When confronted about the discrepancy, the host initially apologized and promised a free cancellation, acknowledging this had happened to other guests before. However, after we left and sought resolution through proper channels, they became confrontational and uncooperative. I'm still seeking dispute resolution through booking.com.

The actual accommodation offered bore no resemblance to the listing photos or description. The room's condition was substandard and completely different from what was advertised. This experience demonstrates a deliberate pattern of false advertising and misleading customers.

Stay away. The listing photos and description do not match the actual accommodation offered. I've been using booking platforms for over a decade, and this is the most egregious case of misrepresentation...

We would very recommend staying at Karo Hill homestay.

Nino and his mom are the most sincere, generous and welcoming hosts. They really took care of us and helped us with everything we needed to visit the sights in Berastagi. They make you feel at home immediately, and Nino is also a great and passionate cook using organic vegetables from their own garden. They helped us with renting a scooter, took us to the Sibayak volcano arranged a guide for us and gave us tips what to visit and what to try as food. We didn't feel like a number as you are in most stays and hotels, but they provide a very personal service.

The place itself is super clean, with a beautiful common area with big windows overlooking the surrounding fields and Sibayak volcano. It is also located just outside the city center so you can enjoy the calmness instead of the busy city noise. They are also Karonese people, willing to share more about their culture and Indonesia itself. Absolute great value for your money and a hidden gem in the...
